The Mbappe to Real Madrid Saga

Earlier in the day, French publication L’equipe published an article explaining that PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe has a contract clause allowing him to leave the club in 2024. This article has gotten a section of the Real Madrid fan base dreaming once again, and I think I should add my two cents.

The Mbappe Saga: Is there about to be a Part two?

After the summer debacle, some sections have reported in the media that the Kylian Mbappe pursuit is over, dead and buried.

Some other sections of the media insist Real Madrid has not entirely given up on the idea of Kylian Mbappe. The player himself, after snubbing Madrid to extend his contract with PSG until 2026, has said his Real Madrid dream is “never over”.

He recently revealed to the New York Times that he sees Madrid as a home. So it seems there might be a part two of the Kylian Mbappe and Real Madrid Saga.

What Do Real Madrid Fans Think?

Emotions drive opinions. Mbappe is a player that many wanted to see play for Real. I, too, loved the idea. Kylian Mbappe at the fore of a sporting project that would see Real achieve unprecedented success in the next ten to fifteen years was enough to get most excited.

But after watching how the entire thing played out, it’s something for which many have lost interest. Yes, that Mbappe turned down Madrid was a bitter pill to swallow. However, how things have turned around is enough reason to convince us that Real may be better off without him.

Vinicius and Rodrygo are Turning it Up

The understanding between these two is natural and nearly telepathic–and we haven’t even seen the best of them. In Vinicius and Rodrygo, we have two of the most dangerous wingers with vast potential and quality that can terrorize defences in Europe and the world for years.

The game against Mallorca at the Bernabeu proves how deadly their pairing can be. Vinicius’s goal was created by a show of pace, strength and accurate passing by Rodrygo.

Rodrygo’s goal was a moment of sheer brilliance. Rodrygo has the pace and confidence to get away for people and take people on in tight spaces. He beat the Mallorca defence to get into the box and the dribble to create the space and score that goal.

Plus, the love they have for themselves is just so beautiful. The way Vinicius was genuinely happy for Rodrygo after he miraculously rescued the team and fired us to the Champions League final in the 2021/22 season is beautiful to watch.

Real have diamonds.

Kylian Mbappe and the Dressing Room

As reported by Goal.com, Kylian Mbappe is unhappy with Neymar’s influence in the dressing room—a bad sign and a huge red flag.

Reports from Manchester United recently have shown there are two factions in the dressing room. The outcome was evident in the early season results.

Mbappe’s ego might be a problem, but of course that is speculative.

Final thoughts

Kylian Mbappe is fantastic player with all the qualities to reach the very peak of football. Real Madrid president Fiorentino Perez also has an affinity for bringing the best players to Madrid–the best and nothing but the best.

But sometimes there is more to the story. Real Madrid should steer clear of Kylian Mbappe.

Just this summer, he sold to the club fake dreams, used the club to secure one of the highest wages in football and smiled as PSG supporters disrespected Real Madrid. It is unacceptable.

After all, The first Galactico, Luis Figo left Barcelona for Real Madrid even after being disrespectful to the club and not having any intentions of joining. But Mbappe might not be another Figo. Not everybody is Figo.
