With UFC 280 right around the corner, the entire MMA world can’t stop talking about the main card and just how stacked it is with two title fights. The main event is very exciting as we finally get to see Charles Oliveira and Islam Makhachev go to war and try to leave Abu Dhabi with the (currently) vacant UFC Lightweight championship wrapped around their waist. Even the co-main event between Aljamain Sterling and T.J. Dillashaw could headline it’s own card, and with the different styles both men possess we could be witnessing a Bantamweight instant classic.

The UFC 280 main card is phenomenal top to bottom there is no denying that, but the prelims will bring the fire and will get Abu Dhabi pumping with some very exciting fights. Here are three prelim fights you simply cannot miss as they act as your appetizer for the main UFC 280 card.

Potential Fight of the Night

Belal Muhammad vs. Sean Brady

This fight could easily be main event fight night of it’s own. Belal Muhammad vs. Sean Brady is such an exciting fight that it makes sense that it headlines the prelim card right before the Pay-Per-View. We could quite possibly see a number one contender emerge from this fight. Belal is on a seven fight win streak and some might say he was on his way to breaking the winning streak of Leon Edwards before the unfortunate eye poke that left Belal Muhammad unfit to continue.

Since the no contest, Belal Muhammad has continued his winning streak against some big name opponents. Even as an underdog against Vicente Luque, Belal Muhammad lived true to his “Remember the Name” and continued his rise to title contention. Sean Brady may be eighth on the UFC rankings, but he presents a legitimate test to Belal’s quest at a title shot. If Belal Muhammad can stop the young gun Sean Brady, there will be no denying he is next for a shot at gold after Leon Edwards vs. Kamaru Usman 3.

For Sean Brady, he is looking to steal some momentum from the big name of Belal Muhammad. Brady will put his undefeated streak on the line and it is great to see that he wasn’t playing it safe when he took the fight against a legit contender like Belal Muhammad.

Tune in Early For Fireworks

Volkan Oezdemir vs. Nikita Krylov

There hasn’t been a buzz for these two exciting competitors, and to have them on the prelims we all know what the UFC matchmakers are doing with Volkan Oezdemir vs. Nikita Krylov – trying to get the viewers to get up early to tune in for some fireworks before the main card.

Volkan Oezdemir got back into the win column against Paul Craig and hopes to keep the momentum going against a tough Nikita Krylov. Oezdemir looked to have enough in the gas tank to maybe even go two more rounds against Craig. He walked away with a decision victory but shouldn’t rely on this fight going the distance as Nikita Krylov showed at UFC Fight Night: Blaydes vs. Aspinal, how dangerous he can be.

Nikita Krylov played spoiler to Alexander Gustafsson, who was looking to get back on track with the hopes of fighting for a world title once again, but Nikita is on a hunt of his own with aspirations of one day being a challenger for a world title. If he can dispose of another former title challenger Volkan Oezdemir the way he did Alexander Gustafsson, he could position himself on the right track to being a contender in the Light Heavyweight division.

UFC 280 Hidden Gem Fight?

Makhmud Muradov vs. Caio Borralho

Makhmud Muradov vs. Caio Borralho could potentially be something special; a hidden gem on the UFC 280 fight card. It is always interesting to have a fight where one fighter is looking to get back on the winning track against a top prospect who has been touted as something great.

Makhmud Muradov succumbed to a notorious Gerald Meerschaert submission in his last fight, but could gain momentum once again against the 12-1 Borralho.

Caio Borralho is exciting and has a personality that many can get behind. Since winning a contract from the Dana White Contender Series, Caio Borralho has not looked back, proving that earning a contract was great decision on the UFC’s part.

There are seven prelim fights and one is bound to get a bonus of the night. Check out the rest of the exciting UFC 280 prelim card below and let us know in the comments which prelim fight excites you the most.
