Misfits Boxing 6 was Friday night at the XULA Convocation Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, the event streamed on the DAZN platform. There seemed to be a lot of outside presence and interference during the event, some of which we can thank Nate Diaz for.
Nate Diaz recently left the UFC promotion, his home for combat sports competition late last year following his fourth-round submission win over Tony Ferguson in the UFC 279 Main Event. Diaz had called the UFC home since 2007 but opted to fight out his contract in pursuit of boxing desires and other business options.
The Stockton Native got to the action early, as during the event Diaz caused a scuffle that had to be broken up by throwing a water bottle at reality show star- Chase DeMoor, DeMoor is known for his appearance on various Netflix reality shows. It"s unclear what set everything off but it seems that DeMoor shouted something at Diaz sitting ringside and Diaz didn"t take too kindly to it and threw a bottle at him.
DeMoor himself was part of a controversy in the event, he boxed Stevie Knight and knocked out Knight but decided to repeatedly punch his opponent once he fell and was later disqualified.
Diaz and Team Involved in Brawl After the Event
A man by the name of Rodney Petersen-who the internet has deemed a Logan Paul lookalike decided to approach Diaz in the streets of New Orleans, it hasn"t been reported what was said but Diaz grabbed ahold of Petersen to apply a guillotine choke and even kneed Petersen in the stomach while applying the choke and violently choked Petersen unconscious, causing his body to fall hard to the ground. This all happened while DeMoor was also approaching Diaz and his team and he was involved in the brawl with Diaz"s team and seemed to be on the wrong side of it, catching multiple punches to the face before everything was separated. Here"s another angle of the brawl.
DeMoor had a string of tweets reacting to the situation, also giving a response and update was the Logan Paul lookalike and TikTok Star- Petersen, saying “I don"t know what the hell I did to Nate Diaz but I"m telling you what, I"m going to knock him the f*** out when I know he"s coming. You caught me off guard dude, what did you think I was Logan [Paul], what the f***." You can see the video of Petersen"s response and the view of his bloody head from the fall here.
Former Diaz boss- Dana White and former rival- Conor McGregor reacted to the incident as well.
The Paul brothers also responded with their own self-defense video after the incident.
Jake Paul will face off against Nate Diaz in a boxing bout on August 5th at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. You can find all of the details for that fight announcement here. What do you think of Diaz yet again being involved in brawls and chaos? Let us know in the comments below.
