As with all title fights, this flyweight championship in the ONE on Prime Video 10 main event is an advertised maximum of five rounds at five minutes per round.
The Series So Far
Heading into Friday night"s main event, the all-time series between these two competitors stands level at one win apiece. Johnson and Moraes first fought one another in 2021 on TNT.
That night, the latter scored a second-round knockout in the co-main event. Last August, the rematch was held, with Johnson scoring a fourth-round knockout in the main event of the inaugural card on Amazon Prime.
How will the trilogy fight shake out?
ONE on Prime Video 10 Main Event Fighter Comparison and Betting Odds
Going into the trilogy fight, Adriano Moraes stands as the taller combatant at 5-foot-8, with Demetrious Johnson standing 5-foot-3. In addition, Moraes has a 3.3-inch reach advantage (69.3 inches to 66 inches even) over Johnson.
As of Wednesday afternoon, the oddsmakers have Demetrious Johnson installed as a -170 favorite, with Adriano Moraes countering as a +130 underdog. If you plan on betting on this or any other fight happening this weekend, please wager responsibly.
Could ONE on Prime Video 10 Main Event be Johnson"s Last Fight?
Demetrious Johnson enters this contest having gone 4-1 in his last five fights. Ahead of the knockout in the rematch last summer, he scored a second-round submission (rear-naked choke) of Rodtang Jitmuangnon (272-40-10 kickboxing, 13-0 ONE Championship) in a custom-rules fight in March of 2022.
Johnson hasn"t fought inside the United States since leaving the UFC"s active roster in a trade for Ben Askren in 2018. It could also be his retirement fight.
Recently, he was interviewed by the promotion on its official website. He discussed the possibility that this phase of his life may soon end.
“I still feel like I can go out one or two or three years, but there"s a part of me where I feel like, you know, we have [to] see," Johnson began. I want to see what happens. Like I feel like fatherhood, I love my children. I love my wife. I love being here for them."

Moraes Ready For Third Joust with Johnson
In the other corner, Adriano Moraes has posted a 3-2 record over his last five fights. Aside from the rivalry vs. Johnson, he scored a third-round submission (guillotine choke) against Yuya Wakamatsu (15-6 MMA, 5-4 ONE Championship) in March of last year.
Although ONE is based in Singapore, Moraes is based out of America. He was interviewed by The South China Morning Post earlier Wednesday about this and other topics.
“To fight in Asia, you have jet lag and stuff like the different time," Moraes said, “but here in Denver, you have the altitude and stuff. I need to come early for the climatization of the elevation of the city."
Can Moraes get the edge over Johnson on Friday? Tune in and find out.
Analysis, Film Study, and Prediction
Stylistically, the ONE on Prime Video 10 main event looks to favor Adriano Moraes, a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, compared to Demetrious Johnson"s brown belt in BJJ.
Watch For Johnson"s Punches
It"s happened before, and it could happen again: Demetrious Johnson has been known to punch his way to a victory in the past. The now-retired Joseph Benavidez can attest to this.
During the first round of their fight in 2013, Johnson and Benavidez stalked one another before the latter briefly turned into the aggressor, landing some outside kicks.
From there, Benavidez looked to be in control of the contest, scoring with another kick, but Johnson landed a right-handed punch on target to sit him down.
Although Johnson got in roughly five ground-and-pound shots, John McCarthy had seen enough and waived off the fight. All it will take Johnson to win the series is as little as one punch square and true in the ONE on Prime Video 10 main event.
Look For Moraes to Lock Up a Submission
In the other corner, Adriano Moraes is adept at getting the submission. Eugene Toquero knows this all too well.
After a pause in the action for a cut, Moraes recovered to take Toquero down and assume top mount, softening him up with knee strikes to a downed opponent (knees to a downed fighter are permitted in ONE.)
Moraes controlled the pace and applied the torque to sink in a Brabo choke in the final seconds. If Adriano Moraes can take Demetrious Johnson down, look for him to try and grapple. He just might be able to get a submission afterward.
Final Thoughts
This looks to be a thrilling fight. One final question: Who"s better?
Prediction: Demetrious Johnson by Unanimous Decision.
