The upcoming 2023 NBA Draft has a lot of hype behind it with Victor Wembanyama, Scoot Henderson, Brandon Miller, etc. headlining the forthcoming draft class. Wembanyama is possibly the best prospect since LeBron James and maybe even all-time. James was taken first overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2003 draft and now twenty years later, there’s a ‘new’ hype train to follow.

Most signs point to Wembanyama being taken first overall so with the recent Draft Lottery news, it seems the French Star will be a San Antonio Spur next season. The San Antonio Spurs seem to have won the Wembanyama sweepstakes, and Spurs Chairman and Owner- Peter J. Holt’s reaction says it all.
Victor Wembanyama
Wembanyama stands at 7 feet and 4 inches tall and dominates in the French Betclic Elite League where he currently plays professional ball. Wembanyama plays for the Metropolitans 92 and leads the league in not only points (21.8) but also rebounds (10.3) and blocks (3.1) as well.
Wembanyama draws many comparisons to Kevin Durant due to his height and ability to shoot the ball from deep with good handles to go with his frame as well. Not only is Wembanyama a gifted scorer but he is dominant on the defensive end too, Wembanyama’s ability to move so well with his height makes him a standout on defense, he can alter shots and protect the rim at a dominant level.
The NBA Draft will be held at the Barclays Center in New York on June 22nd at 8 P.M. EST on ESPN.
