Forbes Names Cowboys and Yankees Most Valuable Sports Teams

Dallas and New York might not have won any sports championships lately, but they are sitting atop the sports world. Forbes released its list of The World’s 50 Most Valuable Sports Teams on Monday.

The Dallas Cowboys are the most valuable team in sports for the fourth consecutive year. The New York Yankees are second, followed by Real Madrid, Barcelona, and the New York Knicks.

According to Forbes, the Cowboys are valued at $5 billion, a 4% increase from last year, and have an operating income of $365 million. The Yankees have a value of $4.6 , a 15% increase from last year.

Rounding out the top ten are Manchester United, the New England Patriots, the Los Angeles Lakers, the Golden State Warriors, and tied for tenth are the New York Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers.

The NFL continues to be the most dominant and powerful sports league in the world. The NFL accounts for more than half of the teams on the Forbes list. Major League Baseball has seven teams on the list, the NBA has nine, and European Soccer has eight.

“The values of teams in major sports leagues are booming thanks to sky-high TV deals, both local and national,” Kurt Badenhausen, Senior Editor of Forbes Media told Ben Church of CNN. “And with revenue growing faster than player salaries, franchises are more profitable than they have ever been.” .

Most Valuable 2020?

Every MLB, NFL and NBA franchise is now worth at leat $1 billion. Now the question is who can overtake the Cowboys and become number one on the Forbes list?

The Yankees have a good shot at overtaking the Cowboys and becoming number one since they are now number two. If the Yankees win a World Series title this year, that might help them become number one.

If the Yankees don’t overtake the Cowboys at number one, then it will probably be a European soccer team. We will just have to wait and see who can overtake the Cowboys as the most valuable team in sports.
