7:05 EST DiamondBacks @ Yankees –  After a tough series in Boston, look for the Yankees to get back to their winning ways. Arizona will send Taylor Clarke to the mound in the series opener. He is 3-3 on the season with a 6.10 ERA. He hasn’t been able to get through five innings in five of his last seven starts, and in each of his last four road starts. The Yankees send JA Happ to the mound. In his last start, he gave up six runs, which is the fourth time he has given up at least six runs in a start. After the first time this happened, he gave up five runs in 20 and ⅓ innings pitched in his next three starts, The second time, he gave up five runs in 18 innings in his next three starts. The third time, he gave up five runs in 15 and ⅔ innings in his next three starts. Look for Happ to have a good start and for the Yankees to roll to a win.

7:05 EST Giants @ Phillies – The hottest team since the All Star Break has been the San Francisco Giants. They have won every series they have played, and have a record of 13-4. They send Tyler Beede to the mound on Tuesday, and the Giants are 8-3 in his 11 starts this season, including winning his last four road starts. He has given up four runs or less in each of his last eight starts. The Phillies will counter with their new asset Drew Smyly. In his only start for Philly, he gave up one run in six innings. It was against Pittsburgh, however, other then that he has been abysmal since the All Star Break. On the season, he is 1-5 with a 7.69 ERA. Look for the Giants to continue their winning ways.

7:10 EST Astros @ Indians – In the best pitching match-Up of the day, Shane Bieber will square off against Justin Verlander. Bieber is coming off of a complete game, and the Indians have won his last five starts. In his last four home starts, however, Bieber has given up 15 earned runs in 19 innings (7.11 ERA). Justin Verlander is pitching for Houston, and he is 13-4 with a 2.86 ERA this season. The Astros have won five of his last six starts, and six of his last seven road starts. The Astros have won nine of their last eleven, and look for them to stay hot.

7:10 EST Rays @ Red Sox – The Boston Red Sox had a great weekend series against the Yankees, taking three of four from them. Now, they meet their other division rival in the playoff hunt, the Tampa Bay Rays. The Rays will send Charlie Morton to the mound, who is 12-3 on the season. He has given up five runs though in two of his last theee road starts. The Red Sox will counter with David Price, who has faced Tampa Bay four times this season. In those four starts, he has given up eight runs in 23 innings (3.13 ERA). Look for Boston to stay hot and win the first game of the series.

7:10 EST Twins @ Marlins – The Marlins go into Tuesday’s game feeling good, after winning five of their last six games. Now they welcome the Minnesota Twins to town. The Twins will send Jake Odorizzi to the mound. Odorizzi gave up nine runs in his last outing at home. In his last three road starts, he has given up 11 runs in 12 and ⅓ innings. The Twins have lost four of his last six starts. The Marlins Zac Gallen to the mound. Gallen has given up two runs or less in five of his six starts this season, and is looking to build off of his last outing, which saw him throw seven scoreless innings. Miami is playing well and is primed to upset Minnesota in the first game of this series.

8:05 EST Mariners @ Rangers – The Mariners will send Mike Leake to the hill in the opening game of this series. Leake has faced Texas three times this season, and has given up 30 hits and 19 runs in 17 innings of work. Texas sends Ariel Jurado to the mound, who is looking to build off of the momentum from his last start, in which he defeated the Oakland A’s. The Mariners have lost all five of their road games since the All Star Break and this game should continue that trend.

8:10 Mets @ White Sox –  Reynaldo Lopez May he finally showing some signs of consistency. He has delivered three consecutive quality starts, giving up five runs in 21 innings. The Mets will counter with Noah Syndergaard who is starting to round into form. He has pitched seven innings in each of his last three starts, and is now 7-5 with a 4.33 ERA. The Mets have the worst road record in the entire NL, and that could continue on Tuesday.
