MLB

12:10 EST Twins @ Marlins – The Twins and Marlins will meet for the final game of a three game set on Thursday. The Twins will send Michael Pineda to the mound. He has given up eight earned runs over his last five starts in 30 and ⅓ innings of work. Pineda is 5-2 in his nine road starts this season, and the Twins have won four of his last five starts. The Marlins send Jordan Yamamoto to the mound, who has struggled in his last two starts. He has given up eleven runs over eight innings of work in those starts. After winning his first four starts, the Marlins have lost three of his last four starts. Couple that with the fact that Minnesota has scored five or more runs in eight of their last ten games, and you should bet Minnesota to complete the sweep.

Picks: Minnesota -1.5(-105), Minnesota First 5 -0.5(-130), Game Over 8 runs(-115), Minnesota Team Over 4.5 Runs(-115), First 5 Over 4.5(-115)

2:10 EST Mets @ White Sox – The White Sox will send Dylan Cease to the mound in this series finale. Cease has given up 15 runs over 16 innings during his last three starts. The White Sox have lost all three of these starts, by a margin of 21-4. They are 2-7 on their current homestand, and have scored three runs or less in seven of those games. The Mets will send Zack Wheeler to the mound, who has delivered quality starts in his last two road outings, giving up one run in six innings in both starts. The Mets have won six in a row, and look for that streak to continue.

Picks: Mets -1.5(-115), Mets First 5 Innings -0.5(-130)

3:37 EST Brewers @ Athletics – The Oakland A’s are starting Daniel Mendgen in the rubber match of this series. He is 5-2 on the season, with a 4.85 ERA. In his last two starts, he has given up eight runs in 8 and ⅔ innings of work. The A’s have lost both of those starts. Only two of his last nine starts have been quality starts. The Brewers are starting Chase Anderson, who has given up two runs or less in each of his last seven starts. This has been a low scoring series so far, with 4-2 and 3-2 games, but today will provide some more runs than expected.

Picks: Milwaukee (+102), Milwaukee First 5 Innings(-110), Milwaukee Over 4.5(-105), Game Over 9(-120)

7:05 EST Blue Jays @ Orioles – Toronto And Baltimore open up for a series featuring the cellar dwellers of the AL East. Both teams, however, have been playing better in recent games. The Orioles just finished a nine game road trip, going 5-4 over those 9 games. The Blue Jays come in winning four of their last five games, including a sweep of the Royals. Tonight’s pitching match-up, however, strongly favors Baltimore. Toronto will send Trent Thornton to the mound. In his last five starts, he has given up four runs or more in all but one of them, and has gotten through four innings only once. Baltimore will send Asher Wojciechowski to the mound. In his last three starts (against Washington, Boston, and the Angels), he has allowed 10 hits and five runs in 19 and ⅔ innings pitched. He also struck out 23 batters in those three games. The Orioles have won his last two starts, and look for that to continue tonight.

Picks: Baltimore (-108), Baltimore First 5(-110), Toronto Under 5.5(-135), Baltimore Over 4.5(-130)

7:10 EST Astros @ Indians – Welcome back to the big leagues, Danny Salazar. After being activated from the 60 Day IL, he will be thrown into a lion’s den of a matchup. He will square off against Gerrit Cole, who has given up one run or less in seven of his last eight starts. The Astros have won six of his last seven starts, and ten of his last twelve starts. Teams have scored under 4 runs in nine of Cole’s last ten starts. Expect Houston to take care of business in the rubber match of this series.

Picks: Houston -1.5(-130), Houston First 5 Innings -0.5(-140), Houston Over 4.5(-145)

7:10 EST Rays @ Red Sox – Tampa Bay has won the first two games in their current series against Boston, and has won seven games at Fenway Park this season. They will be looking to sweep Boston, and they will send Brendan McKay to the mound. McKay has gone winless in his last three starts, and has given up nine runs in 13 and ⅓ innings of work. Boston will send Andrew Cashner to the mound, who has had mixed results since being traded to Boston. He has given up 24 hits and 13 runs in 17 and ⅔ innings of work in his three starts for Boston. The Tampa Bay offense has come alive recently, scoring at least 6 runs in each of their last four games.

7:15 EST Cubs @ Cardinals – Jack Flaherty has had a great July. In his last four starts, he has given up four runs in 24 and ⅓ innings. The Cubs will counter with Jon Lester, who is coming off a masterful outing in Milwaukee last weekend. Both games of this series have been low scoring games (a total of 5 runs have been scored in this series). Six of the last eight Cubs/Cardinals games have had six runs or less, and look for that trend to continue today.

Picks: Cardinals(-115), Game Under 8.5(-120), First 5 Under 4.5(-110)
