Week 22 MLS Picks
Week 22 in Major League Soccer has several great games on the slate for us to make money on. Every week I will be posting two of my plays here and the rest will be tweeted out via my twitter account. On to the picks:
Pick #1: 8/3/19 Atlanta United -1.5 (+105)
These two clubs have met only twice in their existence. Both games were won by Atlanta United. Atlanta has gone 8-3-1 on the year at home in Mercedes-Benz Stadium. LA has gone 4-1-5 on the road this season. Atlanta is coming off a loss in LAFC that they could have, arguably, won the game should Pity Matrinez stayed in the game. Atlanta has also scored an average of 2.4 goals a game in the last 10 games to the Galaxy’s 1.2. I see Atlanta winning at home but with -260 odds, via Bovada, the money line seems a bit too pricy. I’m taking the spread at +105 with Atlanta being at home in front of another sellout crown plus Zlatan Ibrahimovic will not be playing due to yellow card accumulation.
Pick #2: 8/3/19 Houston Dynamo ML +115
This is the match of two bottom dwellers. Houston has just been awful this year going 9-3-10 but Chicago (5-9-10) has just given up recently. The product that they put on the field looks like a bunch of guys just running around after the ball. It’s as if the team doesn’t want to win. I’m not sure what Veljko Paunovic has said to the team or done to the team but it isn’t working. Besides his team’s lack of care, he has lost every match against Houston’s manager Wilmer Cabrera. Houston has gone 5-3-2 in their last 10 meetings with Chicago. Both teams haven’t produced many goals in the last 10 games both averaging around 1.2-1.3 goals per game. Chicago have been horrendous on the road, going winless in their last 23 road games. I think that this game will be low scoring affair but will more than likely push the 3 goals. I also have leans on the Houston 1st Half ML (+170) and the Houston TT O1.5.
