1:05 EST Red Sox @ Yankees – Chris Sale and the Red Sox face off with Domingo German and the Yankees in game one of their double header. Domingo German has pitched well at home this year going 6-1 with a 2.13 ERA. When pitching in Yankee Stadium opposing hitters are batting just .195 against him. Chris Sale has struggled as of late giving up at least five earned runs in four of his last six starts. In three games against the Yankees this year Sale is 0-3 and has given up a total of 14 earned runs. The Yankees are hitting .279 against Sale on the year. Expect the Yankees to continue to putting up big numbers against Chris Sale this afternoon.
Picks: 1st 5 over 5 runs (-120), Yankees Over 4.5 (-105), Yankees (+102)
2:20 EST Brewers @ Cubs – The Cubs and Brewers are both sending left handers to the mound that weren’t sure they would be ready to make this start. Cole Hamels is making his return from the IL today. Before getting hurt, Hamels had five straight quality starts. In two games against Milwaukee, he gave up 3 runs in 13 innings. The Brewers counter with Gio Gonzalez, whose start was pushed back a few days due to shoulder tightness. He has stymied the Cubs this season, giving up two runs in 12 innings of work. Due to these pitchers’ successes against the opponent, and the inconsistencies of the offenses in recent games, we like unders in this game.
Picks: 5 Inning Under(-115), Game Under 9(-110)
6:10 EST Marlins @ Rays – The Rays should have winds in their sails after sweeping the Red Sox in Boston. They return home to face their in state counterpart. The Marlins will start Elieser Hernandez who is 1-4 with a 4.93 ERA on the season. He is 0-3 with a 5.82 ERA in five road games this season. The Rays will use Diego Castillo as an opener, and go with a bullpen game. The Rays have scored at least 6 runs in five straight games, so look for their offense to stay hot today.
Picks: First 5 Over 4.5(-130), TB Over 4.5(-130), TB -0.5 First 5(-130), TB -1.5(+100)
7:05 EST White Sox @ Phillies – The White Sox will send Ross Detwiler to the mound, after their bullpen was depleted in last night’s extra inning affair. Detwiler won his first two starts of the season, but has given up thirteen runs over 11 and ⅔ innings in his last five appearances. The Phillies send their ace Aaron Nola to the mound, and there may not be a better day for it. After depleting their bullpen, they need Nola to go as long as possible today. Nola went 3-0 in his 6 July starts, and the Phillies have won six of his last seven starts. Look for Nola to restore some order to this series.
Picks: Phillies -1.5(-155), Phillies Over 5.5(-120), White Sox Under 3.5(-150)
7:05 EST Mets @ Pirates – This will be the inaugural start for Marcus Stroman in a Mets uniform. He finished his tenure with Toronto in a strong fashion, giving up three runs or less in each of his last seven games. On the season, he was 4-4 with a 2.60 ERA in 9 road starts for the Mets. The Pirates will be sending Chris Archer to the mound. On the season, Archer is 3-8 with a 5.58 ERA. In his last start, which was against the Mets, he gave up six runs in five innings. Yesterday’s loss broke a six game winning streak for the Mets. Look for them to get back to their winning ways on Saturday.
Picks: Mets(-127), Mets First 5 Innings -0.5(-105), Mets Over 4.5(-125)
7:05 EST Blue Jays @ Orioles – In game two of the series between the AL east cellar dwellers, the Orioles send Dylan Bundy to the mound. He is 5-11 on the season with a 5.24 ERA. The Orioles have lost six of his last eight starts, and on the season, Bundy is 1-7 with a 6.16 ERA in 10 home starts. The Jays send Thomas Pannone to the mound. In three July starts, Pannone has given up 11 runs in 14 and ⅔ innings. The Jays are winners of five straight games, and have won their last four games at Camden Yards.

7:10 EST Royals @ Twins – Today’s pitching match-Up features Danny Duffy for the Royals and Kyle Gibson for the Twins. Both pitchers have respectable records (5-5 and 10-4 respectively), but have ERAs over 4.00. Duffy has given up 12 runs over 20 innings in his last 5 starts(5.40 ERA). Gibson has given up 18 runs in 23 and ⅓ inning in his last four home starts. The bats for both teams were hot on Friday, and we expect more of the same on Saturday.
Picks: Minnesota -0.5 First 5(-160), Game Over 10(-110), KC Over 3.5(-145), Minn Over 5.5(-125), Yes for a run in the 1st(-155)
7:10 EST Mariners @ Astros – Was anybody more happy for a change of scenery than Aaron Sanchez at the trade deadline? He may have went from the outhouse to the penthouse, a cellar dweller to a World Series contender. Although his season numbers are awful, his July numbers weren’t bad, as he gave up four runs or less in all five of his July starts. The Astros scored six or more runs in 12 games since the All Star Break and the offense looks to stay hot tonight. Seattle sends Marco Gonzales to the mound, who is probably their best pitcher. He has delivered four straight quality starts in July, but with the Astros bats as hot as they are, we look for that trend to stop today. Houston is 10-1 against Seattle this season, bet them to keep rolling.
Picks: Game Over 10(-115), Houston -1.5(-115), Houston -0.5 First 5(-135), Houston Over 5.5(-125)
7:20 EST Reds @ Braves – The Braves are looking for a bounce back win after their loss to the Reds yesterday. Starting for the Braves is Dallas Keuchel. Keuchal has been solid for the Braves since joining the team allowing three earned runs or fewer in six of his eight starts. He hasn’t gotten much run support from the offense averaging 3.5 runs per game. Expect that to change tonight against Trever Bauer. Bauer is making his first start for the Reds tonight. He’s coming off a 4.1 inning outing in which he gave up seven earned runs. In four starts since the All-Star break he is 1-2 and has given up 14 runs. Look for the Braves to have a huge night at the plate.
Picks: Braves 1st 5 (-135), Braves over 4.5 (-105), Braves (-125)
8:05 EST Tigers @ Rangers – Today’s matchup features Matthew Boyd for the Tigers and Adrian Sampson for the Rangers. Boyd has given up four or more runs in five of his last six road starts. In his only start this season against Texas(in Detroit), he gave up four runs in seven innings. Adrian Sampson is 6-8 on the season with a 5.32 ERA. In the month of July, he has given up 32 hits and 23 runs in 19 and ⅔ innings. With these pitchers on the mound, we like all the overs you can get.
Picks: Game Over 9.5(-110), 1st 5 Over 5.5(-110), Detroit Over 4.5(-115), Texas Over 4.5(-125), Yes to a run in the 1st(-140)
8:10 Giants @ Rockies – Well, the Giants decided to hang on to Madison Bumgarner. Now, we will see how he finishes this roller coaster season for the Giants. Tonight he squares off against Jon Gray. The Giants have won eight of Bumgarner’s last 11 starts, including a June 25 4-2 victory over the Rockies. He has given up three runs or less in six of his last seven starts, and has a career record of 16-8 against the Rockies. Jon Gray has a career record of 1-4 against the Giants, with a 5.08 ERA. This season, he is 1-2 against the Giants, and this includes a July 17 game where he gave up six runs in an 11-8 loss.
Picks: Giants(+102), Giants First 5(+100)
