Patriots vs. Jets Week Seven Preview

The Patriots have been one of the best teams in the league, having a 6 – 0 start to the season, and the Jets have been one of the worst teams having a 1 – 4 start to the season. These two teams face off on Monday, and this is the preview of the game.

Patriots Season

The Patriots are right now the number one ranked team in the NFL with a 6 – 0 record. They have been alright on the offensive side of the ball this season ranking fifth in passing yards, eighth in all-purpose yards, and twenty-first in rushing yards per game. The defense, on the other hand, is the best in the NFL ranking first in yards allowed per game, second in passing yards allowed per game, and third in rushing yards allowed per game. This Patriots team is an unstoppable force that any team should not want to mess with. They have had an easy schedule so far playing the Steelers, Dolphins, Jets, Redskins, and Giants. All of these teams have less than two wins this season. The only good team they have played was the Bills and that game they won by six points.

Jets Season

The Jets had a tough start to the season after, their star quarterback, Sam Darnold got sick and couldn’t play for a couple of weeks. Their offense has been awful this season ranking last in all-purpose yards per game, last in passing yards per game, and twenty-eighth in rushing yards per game. Their defense is better, but not by much this season. The defense ranks nineteenth in all-purpose yards allowed per game, twenty-first in passing yards allowed per game, and thirteenth in rushing yards allowed per game. Since Sam Darnold returned, the Jets looked like the playoff team everyone predicted them to be. When they beat the Dallas Cowboys last week, they proved to be a decent team once they have a skilled quarterback. All of the other games they have lost so far in the season, but they could be a surprise wildcard winner in the playoffs this year.

Prediction

The Patriots have the most significant likely hood of winning this game against the Jets. The Patriots are just dominant on both offense and defense compared to the Jets team this year. The Jets offense may be able to score once if they are lucky. The Patriots offense is going to drive this Jets defense down the field because of there weak passing defense. The Jets’ only upside to this game is that it is at home. I believe it is safe to say that they little chance to win this game. The score of the game will be Jets 14 and the Patriots 24. The Patriots will move to 7 – 0, and the Jets will move to 1 – 5 this year.
