Eagles Sign Wide Receiver Jordan Matthews
I don’t think this move will surprise anyone, after putting DeSean Jackson on the Injured Reserve, the Philadelphia Eagles were in the market for a Wide Receiver. About a week ago, names were being mentioned as suitors, names such as J.J. Nelson, Mike Wallace, and Torrey Smith. Although, the one that made the most noise was the one regarding former Eagles, Jordan Matthews. Earlier this year, the San Francisco 49ers cut the 6-foot, 3-inch, wide receiver on October 26th. With the Eagles receiving core being very disappointing through the year, they needed someone who could contribute. Last year, in 14 games, he produced 20 receptions, 300 yards, and 2 touchdowns. In years prior, he was able to haul in 225 passes and 19 touchdowns in his 3 years with the Eagles.
Eagles Resign All-Pro Guard
On January 13th of this past year, Brandon Brooks of the Philadelphia Eagles tore his Achilles in the NFC Divisional Game against the New Orleans Saints. Since then, after a long and grueling rehab process, Brandon Brooks was able to return for week 1. Ever since returning, Brooks has been able to be one of the best, if not the best lineman in the NFL. He has played 618 snaps, allowing 0, yes ZERO sacks all year. This performance from Brooks leads Pro Football Focus grades for linemen at 93.4. This is a huge sign that the front office wants to build around Carson Wentz from here on. At the time, Wentz signed the largest guaranteed money extension for quarterbacks securing him until 2024. Today, it is a 4-year, $54.2 million extension for Brooks that locks him up until 2024 as well.
