Fantasy players that are clear starters will not be included in this article, such as Patrick Mahomes, Christian McCaffrey, and Michael Thomas. All the fantasy stats shown below will be based on a Point Per Reception (PPR) scoring format.
Teams on Bye: Cardinals, Chiefs, Chargers, Vikings
Teams Coming Off Bye: Packers, Giants, Seahawks, Titans
Start of the Week: Steelers D/ST vs. Cincinnati Bengals
The Steelers defense struggled last week against the Browns; however, they are too good to have another bad week. They also get the opportunity to play the dreadful Bengals. Ryan Finley has thrown two interceptions while being sacked seven times in the last two weeks. The Steelers have had multiple takeaways in every game except for two this season. They are also in the top five of the league in sacks. In short, expect T.J. Watt and Co. to have a big game.
Other Good Starts:
- Bills D/ST vs. Denver Broncos
- Falcons D/ST vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Saints D/ST vs. Carolina Panthers
Sit of the Week: Patriots D/ST vs. Dallas Cowboys
The Patriots defense has scored so many points this season that they are basically a must-start player. However, this week the matchup is tough. To clarify, the Cowboys allow the least amount of fantasy points to opposing defenses this season. Stephon Gilmore should be able to slow down Amari Cooper; however, Michael Gallup and Randall Cobb can make up for him. In addition to this, Dallas has not allowed very many sacks this season and that the offensive line can open holes for Ezekiel Elliott. The Patriots defense is great, but the upside this week is limited.
Other Good Sits:
- Rams D/ST vs. Baltimore Ravens
- Packers D/ST vs. San Francisco 49ers
- Colts D/ST vs. Houston Texans
