There has been talk around the league that Kevin Love is on the trade block for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Will the Celtics trade for Kevin Love?
Kevin Love could be the piece that the Celtics would need to move into NBA Championship contention. Love has averaged 16.7 points per game, 10.7 rebounds per game, and 2.8 assists per game. He would be a great veteran presence on the court because he has been to the NBA championship a couple of times with Lebron James. Love is good at stretching the floor and could help the Celtics get more rebounds. Everyone knows Love is a loyal teammate to have and he has stuck with the Cavaliers through thick and thin. This shows that he could be a great teammate in Boston.
Love is making around 29 million dollars per year currently. If we were to trade for him we would have to trade away Marcus Smart, Kemba Walker, Jayson Tatum, Gordon Hayward, or Jaylen Brown. It would cost the Celtics too much to trade away any of these players because of how much they mean to the Celtics organization. The Celtics would never take a risk like that because they are doing well so far this season. If they could find a player like Love that is cheaper, then it would be perfect.
Conclusion on Kevin Love
The Celtics probably will not trade for Kevin Love because of how much money he is making currently. If he was making less money he would be a perfect fit on the Celtics, but we would be giving up too much for him. If Love were a free agent next season he would be a great fit on the Celtics rotation.
