Career Nights Galore in Miami

A triple-double from Bam. A triple-double from Jimmy. Duncan Robinson scored 34, including tying the franchise record with 10 threes. And, Kendrick Nunn scored a career-high 36. WOW! The Heat crush Hawks fan’s hearts to remain unbeaten at home in Miami.

OT Dominance

The Heat trailed 117-111 with 46 seconds left. Where it looked like the game was over, it wasn’t. The grit in this team is unmatched. Duncan Robinson proceeded to hit his 8th three, Derrick Jones Jr. played amazing defense on the ensuing possession and then Jimmy Buckets sent us to OT with a clutch-three. OT, however, was all Miami Heat. The Heat started overtime on a 16-0 run. A run that included Bam’s first triple-double, Duncan tying the Heat 3-point record and Jimmy’s third triple-double in a week. Overall, this season the Heat are 4-0 in Overtime outscoring their opponents 54-21.

Duncan/Butler clutch threes to send the game to OT

Hawks’ Young Says it’s Over

Young, dishes an assist to make it a 6 point game

With just less than a minute left, the Hawks led by 6 and it was close over. Trae Young was double-teamed, escaped it, dished an assist and gave the Hawks a 6 point edge. On the Heat’s next offensive possession, coach Pierce subbed Young out for defensive purposes. Duncan Robinson would win up hitting a three, and Pierce would not burn a timeout to put him back in. The Hawks would have a stale offensive possession capped by a Derrick Jones Jr. block. Jimmy would then sink a game-tying three. All this, without the “silencer” Trae Young on the floor. He sent Heat fans home early, where he was the one who mentally clocked out early. The Heat would send the game to OT where we would know they would dominate it.

Bam’s Career Night

Bam Adebayo, with the 1st career night of the night. Bam, posted a career-high 30 points, career-high 11 assists and added 11 rebounds for his first career triple-double. At halftime, Bam already had 13 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 assist shy of his career-high at 7. This night was capped off with a dominant OT performance. He scored his 30th point on the 10th assist for Jimmy and secured his 10th and 11th rebound in the overtime period.

Robinson and Nunn Career High’s

Duncan Robinson scored a career-high 34 and Nunn a career-high 36. Robinson tied a Heat franchise record with 10 threes in route to his career-high 36 points. Nunn scored his career-high 36 in different ways. Slashing his way to the basket, using his mid-range game and also stroking the three-ball. Nunn, was one point shy of tying the Heat’s all-time rookie record and two points from breaking it. Kendrick Nunn and Duncan Robinson became the first un-drafted teammates to score a combined 70 points in a game

Jimmy’s Triple-Double

Let’s not forget about Jimmy. The one who hit the game-tying three to send this into overtime. Jimmy, notched his third triple double in a week. He posted 20 points, a career-high 18 rebounds and 10 assists. Jimmy, who was the quitest of the core tonight, was still outstanding. Being the vocal leader and the go-to guy in the clutch. Without his three, Duncan Robinson doesn’t tie the record and Bam doesn’t get his triple-double. Most the credit is on Bam, Robinson and Nunn as it should be, but Jimmy is making these players shine night-in and night-out.
