Oklahoma City Thunder fall to the Denver Nuggets

Thunder lose to Nuggets

Thunder lose to Nuggets: Following the loss to the Denver Nuggets, the Oklahoma City Thunder fall to the ninth seed. The 110-102 loss is the second in a row for the Thunder. It was a game of runs per usual but not in a good way. It would go from a close game to a Nuggets lead and then back to a close game all game long. The Thunder led one time in the first quarter and that was the only time of the game that they had a lead. The Nuggets also shot very efficiently at 50.6% which topped the Thunder’s 46.9%. The fact that the Thunder only led one time and by two points in the first quarter makes it look like the Nuggets dominated the whole game. This, however, is not the case as the Thunder found ways to trim the lead all night before the Nuggets would eventually go on another run.

Key Performers

The most impactful player of the night was Steven Adams. Adams produced all around the box score. He scored 18 points on 60% shooting and pulled down 14 rebounds. Adams also protected the rim with two blocks and made his presence felt in the paint.

Dennis Shroder had a team high in points with 22 and is continuing his great season so far. Shroder also had a team high in his +/- with a +7.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander finished the night with 16 points, four rebounds, and three assists. Gilgeous-Alexander looked good and shot 7/13 on the night.

Chris Paul added 15 points and Abdel Nader scored 14 points.

Whats Next?

The next game for the Thunder will be the Chicago Bulls. The X-Factor for the Bulls is Zach Lavine. Lavine has had a very impressive season and could hurt the Thunder if they do not slow him down. The Thunder also need to keep Steven Adams involved so he can have another good night.
