Start or Sit Week 16: Tight Ends
Start or Sit Week 16: Tight Ends brought to you by Overtime Heroics. Fantasy players that are clear starters will not be included in this article, such as Patrick Mahomes, Christian McCaffrey, and Michael Thomas. All the information is based on a Point Per Reception (PPR) scoring format.
Start of the Week: Jacob Hollister vs Arizona Cardinals
Arizona is giving up the most points to opposing tight ends this year. Russell Wilson loves throwing to his tight ends and he’s learned to trust Hollister a lot, especially late in the game. Hollister hasn’t put up big numbers lately but he’s had to face some teams that are good at shutting down tight ends. I have Hollister as my ninth-best tight end this week so if you have a guy who is out or you are streaming a different player every week, Hollister is the guy you want to go with this week.
Other Good Starts:
- Jared Cook @ Tennessee Titans
- Dallas Goedert vs Dallas Cowboys
Sit of the Week: Tyler Higbee @ San Francisco 49ers
Jared Goff has performed much better when it’s early in the season, calm and clear weather, and at home. The Rams will travel to San Francisco to take on one of the best defense in the NFL. The 49ers are giving up the third-fewest points to opposing tight ends on the season. The last time these two teams met, Higbee and Gerald Everett combined for five catches and 34 yards. In that game, Goff only threw for 78 yards without a score or interception. I can only imagine how bad things would have been for his receivers if he had thrown a pick.
Other Good Sits:
- Jack Doyle vs Carolina Panthers
- Jimmy Graham @ Minnesota Vikings
