Start or Sit Week 16: Wide Receivers brought to you by Overtime Heroics. Fantasy players that are clear starters will not be included in this article, such as Patrick Mahomes, Christian McCaffrey, and Michael Thomas. All the fantasy stats shown below will be based on a Point Per Reception (PPR) scoring format.
Start of the Week: Breshad Perriman vs. Houston Texans
If there was a perfect week to start Breshad Perriman, this is it. Mike Evans and Chris Godwin will both be out most likely, leaving Perriman as the number one option for the Buccaneers’ prolific passing offense. Last week he caught five of six targets for 113 yards and three touchdowns. In addition to being the number one option now, Perriman gets to play the Texan’s horrible secondary. Make sure to start Perriman and watch him produce a WR1 week.
Other Good Starts:
- Terry McLaurin vs. New York Giants
- Will Fuller vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Tyler Boyd vs. Miami Dolphins
Sit of the Week: John Brown vs. New England Patriots
John Brown is a really good receiver and one that deserves a starting lineup spot for most weeks. However, this week he plays against the Patriots. Stephon Gilmore has been a nightmare for opposing wide receivers, and the Patriots have only allowed one receiver to finish in the top 20 of that week. He did catch five passes for 69 yards the first time they played, but I do not see that happening again. The only way Brown will score a decent amount of points is if Josh Allen connects with him on a deep pass. I am not willing to take that chance in the fantasy football championship game.
Other Good Sits:
- Robby Anderson vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
- Kenny Golladay vs. Denver Broncos
- Emmanuel Sanders vs. Los Angeles Rams
