Fear the Deer Digest: A Bucks Recap w/ Spongebob

In this week’s Fear the Deer Digest, I cover Milwaukee’s 3-1 week that included a huge win at home against LeBron and the Lakers. But similar to the previous recaps, there is a nice little twist to each game.

That’s right, I’ll be doing a Bucks recap with pictures and GIFs from one of the best animated shows of all time.

To start things off on a somber note, on December 16th, the Bucks’ 18 game winning streak ended. But on December 22nd, the Bucks are trying to go streaking again, winning their 3rd game in a row at home against Indiana.

…..AGAIN!

The Games

The Dallas Mavericks came into the Fiserv Forum down Luka, and ended the Bucks winning streak. Kristaps Porzingis and Seth Curry combined for 52 points to hand Milwaukee their 4th loss of the season. Giannis tried to put the team on his back and carry them down the stretch with a whopping 48 points and 14 rebounds, but it was to no avail as the Mavs won this one by 4.

Los Angeles Lakers @ Milwaukee Bucks (12/19)

“King Me” -Giannis Antetokounmpo (NBA.com)

In a battle of two 24-4 teams, the Bucks showed they were superior. Even without Bledsoe, the Bucks were able to hold off the best of the west. Anthony Davis had 36, but the Bucks behind the Freak were able to hold off a late run. Also, Giannis hit 5 threes. Yes, 5 threes. If he starts hitting those even more consistently, cancel the league.

Milwaukee Bucks @ New York Knicks (12/21)

On Saturday, Giannis got on the court and he was trouble, messed around and got a triple double. But he wasn’t the leading scorer in this one. Khris Middleton led that category with 23 points. 7 Bucks had 10+ points in a rout of the New York Knicks.

Indiana Pacers @ Milwaukee Bucks (12/22)

6 Bucks had at least 10 points in this one. The leading scorer in this one was Wesley Mathews, with 19 points. But clearly the best player in this one was Giannis. 1 assist away from a triple double, Antetokounmpo led the way for the Bucks in a blowout against the Pacers. Sabonis tried to lead the charge for the Pacers with 19 points, but the best team in the NBA showed why they are #1 in this one.

The Best Highlight of Each Game

Dallas Mavericks @ Milwaukee Bucks (12/16)

In a Bucks loss, the best thing that happened during the game may have not been on the court… (@TheRenderNBA2)

Los Angeles Lakers @ Milwaukee Bucks (12/19)

“I wear this s**t now” – Giannis after hitting his 5th three against the Lakers. (@TheHoopCentral)

Milwaukee Bucks @ New York Knicks (12/21)

The best highlight of this one wasn’t Giannis, but it still was an Antetokounmpo. (@Bucks)

Looking Ahead

Milwaukee Bucks @ Philadelphia 76ers (12/25)

The Christmas day game is a big one for the Bucks. It is their first look at the new-look Philadelphia 76ers team, and it should be a good one. Giannis may have his hands full with the defensive looks thrown at him. Ben Simmons, Al Horford, and Joel Embiid will be tough matchups for the Freak, but Giannis has shown he has taken a step forward offensively. Should be one of the best games of the day.

Milwaukee Bucks @ Atlanta Hawks (12/27)

In the Bucks’ second matchup against the Hawks, it is in Atlanta. It is Milwaukee’s second trip to Atlanta. In their first matchup, the Bucks won in a high scoring affair, 135-127. The Hawks are one of the worst teams in the NBA, and the Bucks are #1. Giannis and company should have no trouble getting a road win.

Orlando Magic @ Milwaukee Bucks (12/28)

In their 3rd matchup of the year, the Bucks face off against the Magic at home. Thus far, the Bucks are 2-0 against Orlando and shouldn’t have trouble getting to 3-0. Sure Jonathan Isaac and Aaron Gordon could make it tough for Giannis, but the Bucks are #1 for a reason. Should be a W for the Bucks.

Milwaukee Bucks @ Chicago Bulls (12/30)

A divisional matchup concludes the week for the Bucks. Next Monday, they head to the United Center to face off against Zach LaVine and the Bulls. The Bulls have been a streaky team thus far this season, but the Bucks have handled their business in the 2 games they have played this season, and I expect they will a 3rd time in Chicago.

Final Word

Don’t be surprised to see the Bucks go on another win streak. It all hinges on Christmas day and if they can beat the Sixers. Because after that matchup the Bucks see: Hawks, Magic, Bulls, Timberwolves, Spurs, Spurs, Warriors, Kings, and then the Trail Blazers. But the Bucks have knocked off the top teams in the West, the Lakers, Clippers (2x), and the Rockets.

With that being said,

Be sure to check your closets and under your bed tonight, because the deer are coming, and you best be afraid. #FEARTHEDEER
