Razorbacks Land Former SEC Starting QB
Feleipe Franks Commits
The Razorbacks just landed QB grad transfer and former Florida Gator, Feleipe Franks. This news comes hot off the heels of Franks’ 48 hour official visit over the weekend. The QB started 24 games with Florida including the first three of last season before suffering a season-ending ankle injury. In Franks’ two year stretch under Gator Head Coach, Dan Mullen, he threw for 4,593 yards, 38 TDs, and 17 interceptions. Because of his injury this last season, Franks could apply for a medical hardship and have an additional year of eligibility.
Razorbacks Desperate for QB Consistency
The Hogs are coming off of two straight losing seasons under former Head Coach, Chad Morris. During his 22 games as HC, Morris fielded eight different starting QBs. EIGHT. Before today’s announcement, the Razorbacks were set to have a three-man QB room. This includes RS Freshman KJ Jefferson, Sophomore John S. Jones, and Senior Jack Lindsey. Franks’ arrival, along with any additional commits such as Malik Hornsby, greatly improves the Razorbacks’ QB situation.
Franks Impressed With Razorbacks Staff
During his visit, Franks noted how impressed he was with how genuine the entire staff was. He says that he doesn’t want flashy this and flashy that, only to talk ball. Apparently, that is exactly what coach Pittman and company accomplished because Franks wasted no time in joining the team.
