2020 NFL Draft: Ohio State WR K.J. Hill Scouting Report
K.J. Hill is one of the best wide receivers in college football. He is ready to take his game to the next level. This guy has everything NFL coaches look for and is a treat to watch.
K.J. Hill Stats
This talented player stands at 6’0” and weighs 192 lbs. Hill in 2019, had 51 receptions, 569 yards, 10 touchdowns, and averaged 11.2 yards per carry. These stats prove that K.J. Hill is ready to make that jump to the big stage. He really tore it up in college.
K.J. Hill Strengths
Hill has tons of talent. First off, he is such a smooth player. Everything he does is quick and sharp. He glides across the field with great speed. Also, K.J. Hill does great with zone coverage because he can fly and can run right by some defenders. He can really get out ahead of a defender. Another huge skill that this receiver carries is his ability to quickly use his head and great eye sight to look at the QB, giving him not only a physical target to throw to but a mental target as well. The last thing that really stands out to me when i watch this athlete is his first steps off the line of scrimmage. He is explosive right off the snap and can really cut and put his strong feet into the ground, so he can get separation on defenders. Just an amazing football player going after the ultimate goal. I can’t wait to watch him next year.
K.J. Hill is a smaller player. He has some areas in his game that can be tweaked. To start, even though he can be physical at the line of scrimmage, he often isn’t as physical downfield when a 50/50 ball is thrown. In the NFL, defenders play physical. He has to be able to go up and get some tough throws and be physical. Also, K.J.’s catch radius is pretty small. He is a great target but not a big target. sometimes QB’s will try to throw out in front of him and lead him but he can’t always hang on for the grab. Besides these few holes in K.J.’s game, I think he will be an elite receiver on any NFL team.
K.J. Hill is projected to go late in the 3rd round or early in the 4th. I enjoyed watching this stud last year and saw that he has what it takes to make an impact at the top level. Any NFL team can use what he brings to the table!
