2020 NFL Draft Scouting Report: Solomon Hunter

Solomon Hunter

Solomon Hunter is from San Antonio, Texas where he played running back all the way up to his Senior year of high school. That’s when he switched to the middle linebacker position. Solomon played so well at the position he was able to go to college and play for Louisiana Tech. However, he had to come back home for family reasons. Having said that he never lost the drive and determination to make it to his ultimate dream of playing in the NFL.

Solomon Hunter then found himself playing for Crisco College where he had an excellent season with 100 tackles and 13.5 tackles for loss. Playing as well as he did, Solomon was able to transfer to Alabama A&M. Hunter played all over the defensive line for A&M because of team needs. He then finished his college career at Tusculum University playing defensive end. Even though his best shot to make it in the NFL will be at one of the linebacker positions.

Scouting Report

Solomon Hunter is 6’3 1/2 243 pounds. His best qualities are his effort and physicality. His quickness plus strength makes me believe that Hunter will be best suited to play the Edge position if he is to make it in the NFL. Solomon can also take on bigger offensive lineman at the point of attack with his excellent hand usage. However, he will most likely have to first prove himself on special teams. With his work ethic and drive to achieve his lifetime goal, I wouldn’t put it past him.

All he needs is an opportunity and just one team to give him that chance. If he is to get that chance, it will most likely be as an undrafted free agent being that Hunter is a lesser-known name. That being said, players make it all the time after not being drafted. Hopefully, Solomon will be one of those players if he happens to not get drafted. I know I’ll be rooting for him.
