According to multiple reports, Rashard Higgins is back with the Cleveland Browns. This is good news for Browns fans as it adds another weapon to an already talent-laden offense. According to ESPN’s Jake Trotter, the contract is one year at $910 thousand. He also stated in his tweet that Higgins was offered more lucrative deals elsewhere but wanted to come back to Cleveland. Browns fans are already in love with Higgins, and this news will only increase that in the fanbase.
The Browns drafted Higgins in the fifth round of the 2016 draft by Sashi Brown. Andrew Berry was a part of the front office that took Higgins. Obviously he wanted to bring him back at the right price. Higgins burst onto the scene after the Browns drafted Baker Mayfield in 2017. He became a safety blanket for the young quarterback. He, like several players, had issues with last year’s coaching staff and found himself on the bench or injury report most of the year. Higgins will never be a number one receiver, but he is a smart, savvy wideout that knows how to get open for his quarterback.
