Top Five Backup Quarterbacks

With every good team, there is a good backup quarterback in case of emergencies. So, with that said, here are the top five backup quarterbacks of 2020. This list is curtsy of USA TODAY

1. New Orleans Saints

It would make sense that the New Orleans Saints are number one. They have a par of talented quarterbacks that have over 5,000 passing yards. First, you have Jameis Winston. Winston is leading the NFL in passing yards with 5,109. Last season, he obviously did show some flaws in his game. Mainly has turnovers with a total of 30 interceptions last season.

Next, you have Tayson Hill. Last season, he threw a total of six touchdowns and showed that he is Drew Brees’ successor whenever Drew does retire.

2. Dallas Cowboys

For many seasons, even before Dak Prescott was drafted, the Dallas Cowboys have struggled at the backup quarterback position. Now, they have Andy Dalton. Dalton is a three-time Pro Bowler. That means he is a first-rate insurance Policy with new Coach Mike McCarthy. Dalton also has a steady hand for training camp, and for any event, Dak Prescott continues his holdout during the summer.

3. Miami Dolphins

Even though Tua Tagovailoa is the future of the Miami Dolphins, his fate might be on hold for at least one more year as he is still recovering from his hip injury. Josh Rosen, who was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals three years ago, remains one of the top compelling prospects. However, he is possible to trade bait. But, those two quarterbacks can’t overtake grizzled vet Ryan Fitzpatrick who arrived in Miami last year.

4. Indianapolis Colts

It’s hard to devise a much better formula for quarterback room. This one is lead by a hall of fame-caliber starter in Philip Rivers, who is in front of a reliable backup in Jacoby Brissett. They hope they fulfill their potential.

5. Cleveland Browns

Case Keenum and new Browns coach Kevin Stefanski are reunited after spending some time in Minnesota. This might be the shrewdest signing of the offseason. The Browns hope to quickly bring Baker Mayfield up to speed on the new playbook. Cleveland also signed the MVP of the AAF Garrett Gilbert.
