A week ago Julian Erosa wasn’t part of the UFC. But after his underdog win over the unbeaten Sean Woodson, he is back for his third stint with the promotion. The final sequence happened when Erosa saw an opening for a D’arce choke during a scramble, pulling down Woodson as he locked his arms and punished him. Brendan Allen had an absolute war with unbeaten late replacement opponent Kyle Daukaus. Allen dominated whenever the fight hit the ground. Once they hit the ground Allen looked for submissions and rained down elbows that led to a large cut within the first. The judges scored the bout 30-27 and 29-27 x 2. This win extends Allen’s win streak to 7 and ends Daukaus’ unbeaten streak of 9. What’s next for the fighters?

  • Brendan Allen

The only heavyweight bout featured former TUF contender Maurice Greene and former light heavyweight Gian Villante. This was Greene’s fight from the get go. Albeit, he wasn’t dominating Villante but he had a nice weight and reach advantage. Greene used these advantages to keep Villante at bay and it worked. Until the 3rd round. Villante caught Greene with a hard left but Greene recovered and locked in an arm-triangle choke to submit Villante. This win ends Greene’s 2 fight losing skid and extends Villante’s skid to 2. What’s next for the heavyweights?

  • Maurice Greene

This fight was probably the most interesting bout, mostly because Mike Perry had no one of merit in his corner. However, that didn’t stop Perry, in my opinion this is one of his better performances to date which him controlling rounds 2-3 as the fight progressed. Perry used his power and his his wrestling to land several takedowns on Gall. The judges scored the bout 29-28 x 3 in favor of Perry. This win concludes Perry’s 2 loss streak. What’s next for the fighters?

  • Mike Perry
    • Niko Price
  • Mickey Gall
    • Matt Brown

Dustin Poirier defeated Dan Hooker via Unanimous Decision

Now, this fight is a surefire candidate for Fight of The Year. From bell to bell both Poirier and Hooker wanted to stand and trade and they did so throwing caution to the wind. The second round was the round to remember, both fighters in the pocket trading blow for blow hitting each other with everything including the kitchen sink but they stood their ground and traded. A major factor that led to Poirier’s victory was his ground game and his cardio. Poirier threatened Hooker’s takedowns with a guillotine and as the round progressed to the later rounds Hooker started to slow down as Poirier landed clean shots to Hooker. The judges 48-47 x 2, and 48-46 in favor of Poirier. This fight ended Hooker’s 3 fight win streak, What’s next for the top lightweights?

  • Dustin Poirier
    • Tony Ferguson
  • Dan Hooker
    • Charles Oliveira
