Rotten Luck Persists for Winslow

Justise Winslow is out for the rest of the season in what is only the latest derailment of a young promising career. Balling once his feet hit the hardwood isn’t the problem for Winslow, it’s getting onto the court in the first place. I dislike when players are pinned as “injury prone”, but it’s hard to look at the evidence for Winslow and not decipher a pattern. This dude just can’t seem to stay on the court. Every time we’ve seen flashes, and there have been quite a few, a new injury comes along and halts his progress. There’s nothing he can do about it, he’s just been quite unlucky for a while and it’s a real shame. Winslow represented the depth the Grizzlies needed so dearly. He would have held down the forth with the second unit.

The Grizzlies now have to turn to Jenkins for a last second reshuffling of their lineup and he must ask his younger players to take on an even larger role in what should be a first round date with the Lakers. Winslow provided a body that you could at least throw at Lebron. It’s a truly sad way to end the season for Justise and we wish him nothing but the best. We can only imagine how disappointed coach Jenkins must be at not being able to unleash all of his new toys on the western conference. You dodge a big one, NBA.
