Peter Lambert Done for the Year

On Wednesday, the Rockies have put Peter Lambert on the 60-day IL. The young pitcher had been sidelined with forearm pain. Lambert had undergone Tommy John surgery and will be out for the rest of the season. It is sad to see such a young pitcher that had so much to offer to the Rockies this season be done before the season started.

Lambert was one of the top pitchers that was competing for the last rotation spot for the Rockies. Now that he is out for the season, it will come down to Chi Chi Gonzalez and Jeff Hoffman.

Peter Lambert was a rookie last year and went 3-5 in 19 games. He also had a 7.25 ERA, 57 strikeouts, and a 1.735 WHIP. In Albuquerque, he went 2-2, with 19 starts. He also had a 5.07 ERA and 1.31 WHIP.

We wish Peter Lambert the best of luck in is upcoming recovery. It will be interesting to see what the Rockies do for their rotation and who will step up to be the fifth guy.
