Breaking News: Update on Westbrook Playoff Status

With the playoffs starting next week the Rockets received even more bad news. Russell Westbrook felt soreness after Tuesday’s loss to the Spurs. The Rockets ran an MRI on Westbrook and it showed a strained quad for the Rockets superstar. Initially, Westbrook was only to miss Friday game and be revaluated this weekend. But now it seems he could also miss some playoff games.

The Rockets start their series with the Oklahoma City Thunder either on Monday or Tuesday. At the very least it seems Westbrook will miss game 1 and game 2. In the past when the playoff series was spread out more over several days it may have only been the first game. Now playoff games will be played every other day with very little time off. The Rockets will now have to rely on Austin Rivers, Eric Gordon, and Jeff Green as their secondary ball handlers.

The Rockets will evaluate Westbrook injury sometime next week. Overtime Heroics will have updates soon as they come in.
