Dolphins Lose a Veteran Linebacker Today in Training Camp

Miami Dolphins linebacker, Vince Biegel, got carted off the field on August 18th, 2020 after he has a possible leg or knee injury. Biegel is possibly in the edge rotation role and contends for an outside linebacker position, but this injury will change everything.

Vince Biegel was one of the only bright spots of the Miami Dolphins defensive roster last season. He signed a one year contract with the team in both 2019 and 2020. Biegel was 27 years old this season and in the offseason, he signed with the Dolphins again.

In his 2019 season, Biegel had 59 tackles, 2.5 sacks, seven tackles for loss, and 13 quarterback hits. His two former teams are the Saints and Packers, but he never came together as a true playmaker till his 2019 season with the Miami Dolphins.

Rookies such as Curtis Weaver and Jason Strowbridge will have to step up into the position. They were both drafted in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Dolphins.

Hopefully, Biegel will be able to return quickly, but it sounds like a possible torn muscle in his leg. Overall, this will be a major loss for the Dolphins this season. So some of the rookies will have to step up into the role that Biegel played last season.
