French-Italian Multiple-time Muay Thai World Champion Fabio Pinca will make his ONE Championship Mixed Martial Arts debut against Thailander fan favorite Shannon Wiratchai. The fight will be on the undercard of ONE NO SURRENDER III.
This will be Pinca’s second appearance on ONE Championship. His promotional debut in April 2018 was on the organization’s all-striking branch, ONE Super Series.
Although he lost his debut, his abilities are not to be ignored as he was able to go toe-to-toe with the now ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Nong-O Gaiyanghadao.
Fabio Pinca is considered one of the world’s elite strikers. He has a 99-24-4 combined record in Muay Thai and kickboxing. He owns impressive wins against notable fighters in the likes of Bobo Sacko, Aziz Hlali, Liam Harrison, Mehdi Zatout, and Charlie Peters.
Fabio Pinca’s masterful striking will undoubtedly be tested in a fight where it can go to somewhere he is not comfortable with. Still, Pinca who is now 36 years old, is confident that he will excel in his mixed martial arts debut and that he is ready to use all the mixed martial arts weapons.
The famous Shannon “OneShin” Wiratchai brings charisma with his personality and entertaining walkouts. Yet, “OneShin” poses a big threat to anyone who he faces.
Shannon Wiratchai has become a seasoned veteran on the global stage and he has faced top opponents throughout his career. “OneShin” has built up experience sharing the ring with the likes of Amir Khan, Former ONE World Champions Shinya Aoki, and Honorio Banario
Famous for his powerful striking abilities, Shannon Wiratchai has that one-punch knockout power. He has also background in judo and has improved his grappling skills through his career.
This fight between two high-level strikers is going to be intense. Both fighters pack one-punch knockout power. Experience will decide this fight’s winner.
Fabio Pinca is a legit threat in the stand-up game. He has a clear advantage in terms of the striking arsenal. Pinca is the faster fighter in this match. He must maintain his distance and constantly back Wiratchai up by probing kicks and punches.
Shannon Wiratchai may bring this to the ground and drown Fabio Pinca into deep waters he’s never reached before. I expect Shannon to use his grappling advantage and not stand-up against an opponent who loves to strike.
It will be very interesting how this fight goes. Will Shannon Wiratchai test Fabio Pinca’s unknown ground game? or will Fabio Pinca be able to defend the take-downs and take the fight into his own game?
