Nate McMillan Out as Pacers Head Coach

Nate McMillan firing:Fair or Foul

Per @Pacers on Twitter, Nate McMillan has been relived as head coach of the Indiana Pacers.

The Fair: Coach Nate McMillan’s playoff record with the Indiana Pacers is 3-16. No matter how you slice it, the Pacers did not get past the first round.

The Foul: In 2017 and 2018 got knocked out by Lebron. In 2018 the Pacers took them to 7 games. In 2019 Victor Oladipo injured his quad and was out for the playoffs. Oladipo was also limited in 2020 as well as Domantas Sabonis sitting out the Bubble with A foot injury.

What is next for the Pacers and Coach McMillan?

Coach McMillan will bounce back on his feet. He played in the league and was apart of USA basketball. He has a poor playoff record, but can be a valuable voice in the locker room as an assistant and will most likely get another shot at a head coaching gig in the future.

Pacers have rumors flying around

I do not see Coach Mike D’Antoni as an option with this current roster, but is a long standing respected coach in the NBA. I believe Mike Woodson deserves a phone call or someone that can get the offense working. Solid defense is in place, but need to get Turner more involved and the guards clicking on all cylinders.
