How Postponing Football Effects the Buffaloes

The Pac-12 has postponed all sports until the end of the year. This decision has a lot of fans upset and annoyed since there will not be any football for the Buffaloes this fall. Of course, safety comes first. There are good and bad aspects to this decision for the CU team.

The Good

We all wish we could see our new Buffs out on the field this year, and it’s awful that we have to wait another year before we can. The positive side to this is that it can give head coach Karl Dorrell one more year to get comfortable with the system, and put a good product on the field next year. If we hold off on players transferring, they can get more familiar with the new coaches and work on building team chemistry.

This could also help with the QB situation as well. Since we will have a quarterback battle for the first time in a while, this extra time could help in making the right decision. Also, with the freshman Brendon Lewis coming in, this will give him a year under his belt to learn the playbook, and maybe he could even start next year!

The Bad

The bad side of this is we don’t have any football. It would be nice to see the Buffs play again, even if they are rebuilding. We could see the young players that will hopefully turn this club around and see if we can improve from the first game to the last.

The other bad side to this is since other teams are planing on playing, we might have players transfer out. Hopefully it won’t be young players that the team wants to build around, but losing anyone on this team will be tough for CU for when they get to play again.

Time to Improve

The CU Buffs have a lot of improving to do for their next season. Coach Dorrell has done a good job getting the team focused and ready for when they play again.

It will be exciting to see what the Buffaloes look like when they are playing again. How will Coach Dorrell do his first year as head coach? How will the recruiting be in his first year? I am ready for January and ready for spring college football!
