The Three Best Possible 2020 World Series Match-Ups

With the MLB season now almost three-quarters of the way finished, why not take a look at some possible 2020 World Series match-ups? Obviously it is way too early to be thinking about what teams will face off in the fall classic. But any one of these three series could really make this shortened season well worth it.

2020 World Series Match-Up #1

Houston Astros vs. Los Angeles Dodgers

Maybe this is my WWE brain thinking, but a rematch of 2017’s classic finale would certainly make waves throughout the MLB. Not only would we see the Astros’ “redemption” run come against the team that they cheated out of a World Series, but we would also get more of Joe Kelly against Houston.

As a baseball fan, I am not openly rooting for the Astros to make it to the 2020 World Series. But I would not hate it if they do, as the entertainment factor of a Dodgers-Astros series would make baseball fans go crazy. Add in the fact that Clayton Kershaw will be going for his first World Series with the odds-on-favorite and this series could go in the history books as one of the best all-time.

2020 World Series Match-Up #2

San Diego Padres vs. Tampa Bay Rays

Not only do we get to see a match-up of two franchises that have never won a World Series in their history, but we get a match-up of one of the best staffs in the MLB against one of the best line-ups in the MLB. Add in the fact that baseball fans can see some of the game’s brightest stars such as Blake Snell, Fernando Tatis Jr., Manny Machado, and Brandon Lowe face off in what could be an all-time great match-up.

2020 World Series Match-Up #3

Chicago Cubs vs. Chicago White Sox

One of the games most historic rivalries would make for an all-time World Series match-up not only for Chicago natives but for baseball fans in general. Both teams have coaches that are in the running for the manager of the year award due to both teams exceeding expectations. Both teams have a good mixture of solid vets and bright stars. Add in the battle of shortstop supremacy between Tim Anderson and Javier Baez and you get a series in Chicago with all eyes on it. First, however, Javier Baez must find his groove.

It is Still Early…

Do not overreact, we still have about 25% of the MLB season left. But the cream has risen to the top over the first 45 games or so, and these three match-ups could really make for an all-time fall classic.
