The most unorthodox MLB playoffs are underway. With the playoffs looking weird, it is time to get some bold predictions on tap. Fans will see 16 teams battle it for the World Series inside a quite unconventional bubble. What can fans expect from this different playoff atmosphere? What team is going to reign supreme this October?
A Northern Miracle
Book it now the young Toronto Blue Jays will pull off a run fan’s won’t soon forget. The eighth-seeded Jays will beat the Tampa Bay Rays in three games with the young guns coming up big late in game three. After the Jays win a hard-fought battle with the Rays, they will meet another division foe in the New York Yankees.
The empire will take the first match-up by a big margin, queuing the Jays do not belong here talk. With the Jays looking to bounce back they will walk off the Yankees in game two. They will ride their momentum and steal game three from the Yankees. The Yankees will not make it easy on the young Jays though forcing a game five match-up where Vladimir Guerrero Jr. comes out hard-hitting two home runs leading the Jays to an ALDS victory. The Jays magic run will end in an ALCS loss.
The NL Central Dominates
The NL Central saw four of their five teams punch their tickets to the postseason. The Milwaukee Brewers squeaked in at the eight seed matching up with the heavily favored Los Angeles Dodgers. The Brewers will shock the world and knock off the Dodgers in three games and break the hearts of Dodgers fans. The Cincinnati Reds come in seventh playing the number two Atlanta Braves. Like the Brewers, the Reds will punch their ticket to the ALDS beating the Braves in three games.
The St. Louis Cardinals will meet the over-hyped San Diego Padres. In which the Cardinals will beat the Padres and meet the Brewers in the ALDS. Last up the NL Central Chicago Cubs meet the Miami Marlins. Following the NL Central pattern, the Cubs will make quick work of the Marlins, winning in just two games. In turn, setting up a meeting with the Reds. Cementing an NL Central team to make the World Series.
Windy City World Series
A rematch of the 1906 World Series will take play over 100 years later. Although to the displeasure of Chicago baseball fans the game will take place in Arlington instead of Chicago. A Cubs and White Sox World Series matchup will be on for the books.
It will be a tough fought series going seven games. With the series tied at two, the Cubs will hand the ball to former White Sox pitcher Jose Quintana. Quintana will go out and get the Cubs a game five win, making the White Sox regret sending him across town. In-game six former Cubs prospect Eloy Jimenez does damage to the Cubs helping the White Sox force game seven. The Cubs will win game seven with less drama than the 2016 World Series. Game seven will end with a Jimenez strikeout to the pleasure of all Cubs fans.
MLB Bold Predictions
Behold your three bold predictions. From “the northern miracle” to pure dominance from the NL central the 2020 playoffs will be no short of exciting. There should be lots of drama throughout the playoffs. Capping it all off with an interleague rivalry between the Cubs and White Sox. Make sure to take these MLB bold predictions with a grain of salt and just be excited the playoffs are here. History will be made.
