E3 2019 has surely had some ups and downs for many but players rejoiced as Nintendo confirmed that the sequel to the critically-praised Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is in development!
Next Legend of Zelda game confirmed! Breath of the Wild 2!
All that was shown was a brief cinematic sequence of Zelda, sporting a rather adorable new haircut, and Link traveling in a dark cavern, eventually encountering a rather menacing looking creature that seems to be producing the miasma-like substance from Breath of the Wild: Malice.

Many fans speculate this may actually be Ganondorf, the human form of series villain: Ganon, who has not made a mainline Zelda appearance since 2006’s Twilight Princess. Unfortunately this game seems to be very early in development as no gameplay was shown and no release window of any kind was given.
That probably means the wait for this game will last until 2021 at the earliest. Until then all we can do is speculate. A personal hope of mine is that the story is told better than Breath of the Wild’s, which was told almost entirely through optional flashbacks that you had to find yourself.
