OTH- Daily Odds 7/19/19

OTH- Daily Odds 7/19/19 is part of a daily series providing you with the odds for all major sports playing that day.

MLB

Padres @ Cubs – Jon Lester’s season has been a tale of two different pitchers. On the road, he is 3-4 with a 5.09 ERA. At home, he is 6-2 with a 2.62 ERA. He has gotten the win in each of his last five home starts, and the Cubs won each of those games by at least four runs (total combined score was 42-16). Since the All Star Break, the Cubs have gone 5-1, while the Padres have gone 1-5. The Padres will send Eric Lauer to the mound, and he is 2-4 with a 5.75 ERA in his eight road starts this season.

Cubs -163

7:05 Phillies @ Pirates – The Pirates will send Jordan Lyles to the mound tonight. It has been a tale of two seasons for him. He started the season 5-1 and gave up one run or less in six of his first eight starts. Since that time, however, he has given up 33 runs in 29 and ⅓ innings pitched (10.13 ERA). He has also given up seven runs in each of his last two starts. With an inconsistent Jake Arrieta on the mound for the Phillies, this could be a high scoring affair, but look for the Phillies to build off of the momentum they gained from splitting a four game series with the Dodgers this week.

Phillies -105

7:05 Red Sox @ Orioles – David Price will be taking the mound for the Red Sox tonight. Price has pitched well as of late allowing one or two earned runs in each of his last five starts, and is unbeaten in his last ten. The Red Sox have played great on the road recently going 14-2 in their last 16 road games. Expect the top of the lineup to stay hot against the Orioles.

Red Sox -1.5 -140

7:10 Royals @ Indians – Very quietly, the Cleveland Indians have moved to within four games of the Minnesota Twins. The Indians will have another opportunity to close the gap as they host the Royals this weekend. They have beaten the Royals in four straight games, with all of those victories coming by more than one run. In fact, eleven of the last twelve Indians wins have come by more than one run. Tonight’s pitching match-up strongly favors them as Shane Bieber faces off against Mike Montgomery. Bieber has been great in recent outings, giving up two earned runs or less in six of his last eight starts. He has struck out 65 batters over 50 innings in those eight starts. The Royals are starting the newly acquired Mike Montgomery, who hasn’t pitched since July 2. His ERA on the season is 5.67, and look for the Indians to get to him early in this game.

Indians -1.5 -135

7:10 Cardinals @ Reds – Cincinnati sends Tyler Mahle to the mound tonight. He is 2-10 on the season, and the Reds have only won four of his eighteen starts this season. In his last nine starts, his ERA has risen from 3.51 to 4.82. St. Louis sends Adam Wainwright to the mound, and he has been great since returning from a brief IL stint in early June. In these four starts, he has given up a total of seven runs in 24 innings of work (2.63 ERA), and has struck out at least six batters in each of these games. The Cardinals may be finally hitting their stride as they have won five of their last six games, while the Reds have gone 2-5 since returning from the All Star Break.

Cardinals -105

10:15 Marlins @ Dodgers – Hyun-Jin Ryu and the Dodgers take on Zac Cullen and the Marlins tonight in LA. Outside of a start at Coors Field where he got hit hard, Ryu has been dominate all year. In his last ten starts Ryu has allowed more than two earned runs only once. In five of those games he didn’t give up a single earned run. Ryu has been especially dominate at home this year with a .85 ERA in 63.2 innings.

Dodgers -1.5 -135

Flier of the Day

10:15 Mets @ Giants – The hottest team in baseball right now is the San Francisco Giants. The Giants have won six in a row, are 7-1 since the All Star Break, and are 13-2 in their last fifteen games. Tonight’s pitching matchup will be tough as they send Tyler Beede out there against Jacob DeGrom. The Giants have won five of his last six starts, and his ERA has dropped from 8.06 to 5.44 in those six starts. Jacob DeGrom has been great in his last nine starts, giving up less than three runs in eight of those nine starts. Yet, the Mets have only won two of those nine games. Normally, you probably wouldn’t take DeGrom to lose this one, but with the Giants playing so well as of late, take them to get the upset here at home.

Giants +160

Africa Cup of Nations

3:00 Senegal vs Algeria – Senegal to Lift the Trophy -120

MLS

10:00 LAFC @ LA Galaxy – Over 3 total goals -160
