MLB
7:05 EST Brewers @ Pirates – The Brewers bats finally came back to life last night, after scoring three runs or fewer in five of their last six games. Starting for Milwaukee will be Chase Anderson who comes into the game 5-2 with a 3.73 ERA. Anderson has looked good for the Brewers giving up more than three earned runs only one time is his last eleven outings. In three starts against the Pirates is he is 1-0 with a 3.60 ERA. Christian Yelich is destroying Pirates pitching, batting .383 with an OPS of 1.332 in 13 games. Expect the Brewers to make it two in a row over the Pirates.
Picks: Brewers (-150), Brewers -.5 1st 5 (-125), Under 5.5 Total 1st 5 (-120)
7:05 EST Yankees @ Orioles – The Yankees hit their 32nd home-run of the season last night at Camden Yards setting a new Major League record for most home-runs at a visiting park. New York hopes to extend the record tonight against Asher Wojciechoski. Wojciechoski struggled in his last start against the Blue Jays only making it through 4.2 innings before getting pulled. The Yankees will use Jonathan Holder as an opener for tonight’s game. Holder hasn’t given up an earned run in his last two outings for the Yankees. Look for the Yankees to get the win and improve their already solid road record today in Baltimore.
Picks: Yankees -1.5 (-150), Yankees -.5 1st 5 (-130), Yes to a run in the 1st (-145)
7:10 EST White Sox @ Tigers – In game two of the doubleheader, the potential exists for a high scoring match up. The Tigers send Drew VerHagen to the mound. In his two starts this season (July 25 and 30), he gave up 16 hits and 11 runs in 8 and ⅔ innings pitched. He has yet to make it through 5 innings in a start this season. The Sox send Hector Santiago to the mound, who is making his first MLB appearance this season for the Sox, after being designated for assignment by the Mets in June. In his seven AAA starts since being signed by the White Sox, Santiago went 1-4 with a 5.84 ERA. We like all the overs in this game.
Picks: Game Over 10.5(-105), First 5 over 6(-115), White Sox over 4.5(-145), Tigers over 4.5(-145), Yes to a run in the 1st(-145)
7:10 EST Royals @ Red Sox – In game two of the series Jacob Junis will take on Andrew Cashner. Jason Junis has been hit hard his last two games allowing ten earned runs in 13 innings. In his last start against the Red Sox he didn’t make it through the fifth inning while giving up six runs. The Red Sox had hoped acquiring Cashner would help solidify their rotation, however he hasn’t been much help. Since the trade Cashner has given up four runs or more in three of the four starts while walking ten batters. Expect this to be another high scoring game similar to last night.
Picks: Red Sox -.5 1st 5 (-145), Red Sox Over 5.5 (-135), KC Over 4.5 ( -110), Over 10.5 Total (-120), Yes to a run in the 1st (-150)
7:10 PM EST Marlins @ Mets – This game features two teams headed in opposite directions. The Marlins have lost all four games on this road trip, and have lost six of their last seven games. The Mets, on the other hand, have won their last four games, and have won 11 of their last 12 games. Today’s pitching match-up favors the Mets as Zack Wheeler squares off against Hector Noesi. Wheeler was dominant in his last start, as he gave runs in seven innings at the White Sox. On the season, Wheeler has been better on the road, but he does sport a 4-2 record in 10 home starts (4.74 ERA). The Marlins are bringing back a name from the past as Hector Noesi gets the start. Noesi has been in the minors since 2015, when he last appeared in the majors with the White Sox. This season, he has down okay at AAA, going 11-4 with a 3.82 ERA.
Picks: Mets -1.5(-145), Mets -0.5 First 5 (-180), First 5 Over 4.5(-115), Game Over 8.5(-120)
7:10 EST Rangers @ Indians – The Indians try to get back into the win column after a shut out loss last night. Starting for the Indians will be Zac Plesac. Outside of a seven run outing at the end of June, Plesac has been very consistent for the Indians. Since that seven run outing he has allowed more than two earned run only once. In his only start against the Rangers this year, Plesac went seven innings allowing only one run on two hits. Ariel Jurado has been a little more inconsistent then Plesac. His first few starts were great but it has been mostly down hill ever since. In the last month he has allowed 16 earned runs in 22.1 innings with opponents hitting .300 against him. Look for the Indians to have a big day offensively, while Plesac has success on the mound.
Picks: Indians -1.5 (-110), Indians 1st 5(-155), Rangers Under 4.5 (130), Indians Over 5.5 (-130), Yes to a run in the 1st (-145)
7:10 EST Blue Jays @ Rays – Trent Thornton and the Blue Jays look to take another game from Andrew Kittredge and the Rays tonight. Thornton has been crushed in his two outings against the Rays this year, allowing eight earned runs in 7.2 innings of work. Andrew Kittredge will be the opener for the Rays tonight. He has had some trouble with the Blue Jays. In three innings he was tagged for two runs on five hits. After yesterday’s less than stellar performance from the Rays offense, look for them to come to the plate aggressive and ready to score some runs.
Picks: Rays -.5 1st 5 (-135), Rays Over 4.5 (-130), Over 4.5 1st 5 (-125), Over 8.5 (-110), Yes to a run in the 1st (-110)

7:10 EST Angels @ Reds – The Reds are looking to win their third straight game tonight as they take on the Angels. Anthony Desclafani has pitched great as of late allowing three earned runs or fewer in each of his last six starts. The Reds have struggled to give him any type of run support over that span, averaging just three runs per game. Expect that to change tonight as the Reds face Jose Suarez. Suarez has not made it out out of the fifth inning in any of his last five starts.
Picks: Reds (-137), Reds -.5 1st 5 (-120), Angels Under 4.5 (-125)
8:05 EST Athletics @ Cubs – After last nights 6-5 victory, the Cubs extended their home record to 40-18. Jon Lester starts tonight for the Cubs, and he has been outstanding at home this season, going 6-2 with a 2.95 ERA. The Cubs have won his last six home starts, and eight of his last nine home starts. Brett Anderson is 0-2 in his last four starts, sporting a 4.81 ERA in those starts. Even though the As have been surging (28-13 in their last 41 games), look for the Cubs to continue their winning ways at home.
Picks: Cubs(-146), Cubs First 5(-135), First 5 Over 5 Runs(-120), Cubs over 4.5 runs(-130)
8:10 EST Rockies @ Astros – The Zack Greinke era in Houston begins tonight. Oddly, it begins with an opponent from his previous division as the Rockies come to town. He has faced the Rockies already four times this season, and gave up nine runs in 26 innings. The Rockies counter with German Marquez, who has given up two runs or less in his last three starts. Before that, he had given up five or more runs in five of his last eight starts. The Astros are 8-1 in their 9 home games since the All Star Break, and have won seven of their last eight games. The Rockies are 3-7 in their 10 road games since the All Star Break. Look for the Astros to take care of business tonight in Greinke’s debut.
Picks: Houston -1.5(-125), Houston -0.5 First 5(-130), First 5 Over 4(-125), Astros over 4.5 runs(-115), Game Over 8(-115)
8:10 EST Braves @ Twins – Mike Foltynewicz returns to the big league club after a six game stint in AAA. He returns to face a Twins team that is 9-4 and averaging 7.5 runs per game in their last 13. Starting for the Twins tonight will be Jose Berrios. Berrios has allowed three earned runs or fewer in each of his last 12 starts. He has looked almost untouchable in two games against the National League allowing two earned runs in 13 innings with a WHIP of .54. In four games since the All-Star break, Berrios is 2-0 allowing only five earned runs in 24.2 innings. Expect the Twins to take another game from the Braves as they look to hold off the Indians in the division.
Picks: Twins -.5 1st 5 (120), Twins (-155)
9:40 EST Phillies @ Diamondbacks – The Phillies look to win two in a row as well as win the series tonight in Arizona. Taking the mound for the Diamondbacks will be Mike Leake. Besides almost throwing a perfect game a couple weeks ago he has had a less than ideal year. He comes into the game with a 9-8 record and a 4.27 ERA. Leake has allowed four earned runs or more in an astounding nine games this season, and has allowed eight hits or more in five of his last six starts. Philadelphia will send out Jake Arieta who has been pretty average, but has had his moments. Arieta has given up one earned run in three out of his last four starts. Look for Arieta to continue his streak of good starts with the offense teeing off on Leake.
Picks: Phillies +.5 1st 5 (-120), Phillies (+115), Over 9.5 Total Runs (-115), Yes to a run in the 1st (-125)
9:45 EST Nationals @ Giants – Anibal Sanchez will be the starter tonight for the Nationals in San Fransisco. Sanchez has pitched well against them in his career going 4-1 with a 2.05 ERA against them. Sanchez has not lost a game dating all the way back to May. In the last two months he has gone 5-0, and given up more than three earned runs only twice. Conner Menez will make his second big league start tonight. In his first start, he went five innings while giving up two runs. Expect this outing to be a little more rocky for him.
Picks: Nationals 1st 5 (-125), Nationals (-116)
10:10 EST Cardinals @ Dodgers – The Dodgers keep on rolling at home. They won 8-0 last night over STL, which extends their home record to 44-15 this season. Tonight, Clayton Kershaw goes to the mound. Kershaw is 10-2 on the season, and is 7-0 with a 2.35 ERA at home this season. The Cardinals come back with Miles Mikolas, who has struggled on the road this season. He is 2-6 with a 6.75 ERA (compared to a 1.98 ERA at home). The Cardinals bats have been cold on this road trip so far, as they have scored five runs in their first three games. Look for the Dodgers and Kershaw to continue their dominance tonight.
Picks: Dodgers -1.5(-115), Dodgers -0.5 F5(-135), Dodgers Over 4.5(-115), Cardinals Under 3.5(-140)
