OTH- Daily Odds 8/10/19

OTH- Daily Odds 8/10/19 is part of a daily series providing you with the Odds for all Major sports being played that day.

MLB

3:07 EST Yankees @ Blue Jays – The Yankees and Jays are tied at 1-1 in this series so far. The Yankees will send Chad Green as an opener to the mound. He has great numbers against Toronto, having a 2.70 ERA in six appearances against them this season. In his career, he is 5-0 with a 1.62 ERA against the Jays. He will only go one or two innings, before handing the ball over to the competent Yankees bullpen. The Jays will go the with Wilmer Font as their opener, who has been good in recent outings. Even though these are some red hot offenses, we think that this will be a close game, with lower scores than usual.

Picks: Yankees F5(-160), F5 Under 6(-105), Jays +1.5(+100), Game Under 11(-105)

4:05 EST Angels @ Red Sox – The Red Sox look to take game three of the four game series this afternoon. Boston finally had the offensive explosion they had been waiting for last night, scoring 16 runs. The Angels have now lost eight straight games, while averaging 2.5 runs during that stretch. Rick Porcello will get the start for Boston this afternoon. He pitched great in his last start going six innings while only giving up one run. We don’t think he will duplicate that performance tonight, but we do expect a solid outing against this Angels team that is struggling to score runs.

Picks: Red Sox 1st 5 (-140), Red Sox (-155), Angels Under 5.5 (-130), Red Sox Over 5.5 (-140), Yes to a run in the 1st(-170)

4:05 EST Phillies @ Giants – The Giants will look to get back into the win column after their loss to the Phillies last night. Jeff Samardzija will take the mound for the Giants this afternoon. Samardzija pitched against the Phillies 11 days ago, pitching six scoreless innings while giving up only three hits. In his last three starts he has given up a total of 2 earned runs in 16 innings of work. Starting for the Phillies will be Vince Velasquez who comes into the game with a 4.33 road ERA. Look for the Giants to give Samardzija some early run support this afternoon and get the win.

Picks: SF 1st 5 (-115), SF (-110), SF Over 3.5 (-150), 1st 5 Over 4.5 (-125), No to a run in the 1st(-120)

6:10 EST Royals @ Tigers – The Tigers have taken the first two games of this series and are looking to make it three in a row on Saturday. This pitching match-up will feature Mike Montgomery against Spencer Turnbull. Montgomery has given up at least four runs in three of his four starts since coming to the Royals, and the Royals have lost all four of his starts. Turnbull has faced the Royals four times this season, and he has given up nine runs in 22 innings of work. Even though the Tigers have lost Turnbull’s last eight starts, and Turnbull has no wins at home this season, we think that today is the day to break those trends. Take the Tigers to win another game against the struggling Royals, who are 2-12 in their last 14 games.

Picks: Detroit(-135), Detroit F5(-140), Game Under 9.5(-115), Tigers Over 4.5(-130), Royals Under 4.5(-125)

6:10 EST Braves @ Marlins – The Braves take on the Marlins tonight in Miami. Atlanta has won 12 of the 16 games they have played against the Marlins this year. Mike Soroka looks to continue his dominance on the road this year. He enters today’s game 6-0 with a 1.45 ERA on the road. In two games against the Marlins this year he is 2-0 with a 0.60 ERA with hitters batting .115 against him. Sandy Alcantara will get the start for the Marlins. He has struggled since the All-Star break allowing 21 earned runs in 26.2 innings. In the Braves past five games, they are hitting .293 as a team. Look for Atlanta’s bats to stay hot tonight in Miami.

Picks: Braves -.5 1st 5 (-145), Braves -1.5 (-135), Braves Over 4.5 (-130)

7:05 PM EST Astros @ Orioles – In a shocking turn of events, Friday’s game between these teams was a very low scoring affair, with the Astros winning 3-2. The Astros had scored at least seven runs in five of their previous six games, and we look for them to get back to that scoring pace tonight. Tonight’s match-up features Aaron Brooks vs. Aaron Sanchez. Aaron Sanchez’s first start for the Astros was masterful, as he gave up no hits six innings of work against Seattle. On the season, however, he is 1-8 with a 6.83 ERA on the road. We don’t think this start will be as nice for him. Since coming to the Orioles, Aaron Brooks has given up 15 runs and 23 hits in 19 innings of work. In his only start this season against Houston, he gave five runs and nine hits in five innings. We like every over that you can bet in this game, and for Houston to be ahead at the half way point.

Picks: Houston -0.5 F5(-165), Game Over 11(-125), F5 Over 6(-125), Balt Over 3.5(-150), Houston Over 6.5(-130), Yes to a run in the 1st(-145)

7:10 PM EST Nationals @ Mets – People were really confused at the trade deadline when the Mets went after Marcus Stroman. Now, many less people are confused as the Mets have went on an absolute tear. They are winners of seven in a row, and are 14-1 in their last 15 games. They are now only 0.5 games back in the wild card, and can leap ahead of the Nationals with a win tonight. Tonight’s match-up features Patrick Corbin and Noah Syndergaard. Corbin has started three games against the Mets this season, losing both games in New York. All three starts came in April and May. In his last start, Corbin was unimpressive, giving up five runs in 5 and 1/3 innings at Arizona. Corbin has been a master at home (6-1 with a 1.78 ERA), but very pedestrian on the road (3-4 with a 5.32 ERA). Syndergaard has returned to his old self since the All Star break, giving up three earned runs or less in each of his last five starts. He also has gone at least seven innings in each of those starts. Both pitchers have iffy career numbers against their opponents, as Syndergaard is 4-6 with a 3.47 ERA against the Nats, and Corbin is 2-5 with a 4.58 ERA against the Mets. We like the Mets, in a higher scoring game than most people would expect.

Picks: Mets(-128), Mets F5(-130), F5 Over 4(-115), Game Over 8(-110), Mets Over 3.5(-140), Nationals Over 3.5(-130)

7:10 EST Cubs @ Reds – These two teams have split the first two games of this series. Tonight’s pitching match-up features Kyle Hendricks and Sonny Gray. Hendricks has been masterful as of late, giving up two earned runs or less in each of his last seven starts. He has faced Cincinnati twice this season, giving up three runs in fourteen innings of work. This includes a 3-1 victory in Cincinnati on May 14, in which Hendricks gave up one run in eight innings of work. In his career, he is 6-2 with a 3.29 ERA in 16 starts against the Reds. Sonny Gray has also been pitching real well, as he has given two runs or less in six of his last seven starts. He has faced the Cubs three times this season, and the Reds have won both of the home starts. With the recent successes of both pitchers, we like a lot of under bets in this game.

Picks: Game Under 8.5(+100), F5 Under 4.5(-105), Cubs Under 4.5(-140), Reds Under 4.5(-140), No to a run in the 1st (-120)

7:10 PM EST Rangers @ Brewers – Tonight’s pitching match-up features Pdero Payano and Adrian Houser. Houser has started eight games for the Brewers this season, and they are 2-6 in those eight games. In his last six starts, he has given up at least three runs in five of them, and has only gone longer than five innings one time. Payano has started two games for the Rangers, and has given up six runs in 9 and 2/3 innings of work. The Brewers offense has found itself this week, scoring at least six runs in three of their last four games. We like the bats to stay hot in this one.

Picks: F5 Over 5.5(-120), Game Over 10(-105), Brewers Over 5.5(-115), Texas Over 3.5(-145), Brewers -0.5 F5(-150), Yes to a run in the 1st (-130)

7:10 EST Indians @ Twins – The Indians are now tied for the lead in the American League Central after defeating the Twins 6-2 last night. Jake Odorizzi will be making the start for the Twins, and has looked good in his last two outings giving up a total of two earned runs in 11.2 innings. In two starts against Cleveland this season he has allowed just two earned runs in 11.1 innings with the Indians batting just .111 against him. Starting for the Indians will be Adam Plutko. Plutko has struggled a bit in his last two road starts giving up a combined eights earned runs in 10.2 innings. Expect the Twins to get the win tonight and pull back ahead of the Indians in the division race.

Picks: Twins -.5 1st 5 (-105), Twins (-148), Indians Under 4.5 (-115)

7:10 EST Athletics @ White Sox – Today’s matchup features Tanner Roark and Reynaldo Lopez. Lopez has started to hit his stride in recent games, as he has given up three runs or less in each of his last five starts. This includes giving up one run in six innings at Oakland on July 14. Tanner Roark starts today’s game for the A’s, and he is 5-1 with a 4.06 ERA in 10 road games this season (all for Cincinnati). Roark has never faced the White Sox. We like a lower scoring game in this one due to the recent successes of Lopez and the lack of experience against Roark for the Sox.

Picks: Game Under 9.5(-115), F5 Under 5(-105), Oakland Under 5.5(-125), White Sox +1.5(+105)

7:15 PM EST Pirates @ Cardinals – The Pirates are now 4-22 since the All Star break, including a 1-6 record against the Cardinals. Today’s match-up features Adam Wainwright and Joe Musgrove. Wainwright has been great at home this season, sporting a 5-2 record and a 2.26 ERA in 10 games. In his only home start against the Pirates this season, he gave up one run in seven innings of work. Musgrove has struggled against the Cardinals this season, going 0-3 with a 12.08 ERA in three starts this season. With the recent downfall of Pittsburgh, and the terrible numbers from Musgrove against St. Louis, we like the Cardinals to take care of business again today.

Picks: St. Louis -1.5 (+110), St. Louis -0.5 F5(-120), Cardinals Over 4.5(-130), Pirates Under 3.5(+100)

8:40 EST Rockies @ Padres – Chris Paddack and the Padres face off with Chi Chi Gonzalez and the Rockies tonight. Paddack will be determined to bounce back after his last outing against the Dodgers. Prior to his start against the Dodgers he had allowed three runs or fewer in seven straight games. We expect Paddack to return to form tonight against the Rockies while getting some early run support from the offense.

Picks: Padres -.5 1st 5 (-135), Padres -1.5 (-110), Padres Over 4.5 (-115), 1st 5 Over 4.5 (-120), Rockies Under 3.5 (-135)

9:10 PM EST DBacks @ Dodgers – The DBacks stole last night’s game from the Dodgers, scoring two runs in the ninth inning and one in extra innings to get the win 3-2. Today, they will send Alex Young to the mound. The DBacks have won all three of his road starts, and he is 4-1 on the season with a 2.60 ERA. In his only appearance against the Dodgers, he gave up no runs in 2 and 1/3 innings of work. The Dodgers send Kenta Maeda to the mound, who has had a lot of struggles in recent outings. He has gone 0-5 in his last 11 starts, and has seen his ERA rise from 3.48 to 4.37 during that time. In his last three outings, he has given up 12 runs in 11 innings of work. The Dodgers offense has slowed down recently (7 runs in last 3 games), and we look for the DBacks (won five of their last six) to steal another game tonight in LA.

Picks: Arizona (+155), Arizona F5(+145), F5 Over 4.5(-125), Arizona Over 3.5(-110), Game Over 8.5(-115)

10:10 EST Rays @ Mariners

Picks: Rays -.5 1st 5 (-145), Rays -1.5 (-140), Rays Over 4.5 (-135)
