MLB
1:05 EST Angels @ Red Sox – The Red Sox and the Angels will wrap up their four game series this afternoon in Boston. Andrew Cashner will be taking the mound for the Red Sox. He has given up four earned runs or more in all but one start since the trade. The Angels offense is trying to build off their performance yesterday and couldn’t ask for a better pitcher to do that against. Patrick Sandoval will be making his second start for the Angels this year. He looked solid in his first outing going five innings and giving up two earned runs. We expect this start to be a little more difficult for him going up against a relatively powerful Red Sox lineup.
Picks: Red Sox Over 5.5 (-140), Angels Over 5.5 (+100), Total Over 11.5 (-110), Yes to Run in the 1st (-170)
1:05 EST Astros @ Orioles – The Astros are going for their ninth straight win tonight after putting a beat down on the Orioles last night 23-2. The Orioles are trying to avoid getting swept for the second straight series at home, but things do not look promising for them with Justin Verlander making the start for the Astros. The Astros have won each of his last five starts with Verlander not allowing over two earned runs in any of those games. Asher Wojciechowski will take the mound for the Orioles. Baltimore has lost eight of his last ten starts. Wojciechowski has given up nine earned runs in his last 8.2 innings of work. Look for the Astros to keep it rolling this afternoon in Baltimore.
Picks: 1st 5 Over 5.5 (-110), Astros Over 6.5 (-120)
1:07 EST Yankees @ Blue Jays – After rolling off nine straight wins, the Yankees have now lost two in a row to the Jays. Today, they send Masahiro Tanaka to the mound to get back on the winning ways. In his career, he is 12-5 with a 2.88 ERA against the Jays. He has struggled in recent games, however, as he has given up at least five runs in five of his last seven starts. The Jays will throw Trent Thornton to the mound. He has either been really good or really bad. In his last six starts, he had two quality starts where he threw six innings and gave up no runs or one run. In his other four starts, he gave up 22 runs in 10 and ⅔ innings. In two starts against the Yankees this season, he gave up nine runs in 8 and ⅓ innings. We like the Yankees to get back on the winning ways in a high scoring game.
Picks: Yankees -1.5 (-135), Yankees -0.5 1st 5 (-140), Game Over 11 (-110), 1st 5 Over 6 (-110), Yes to a run in the 1st (-140), Yankees Over 6.5 (+105), Jays Over 4.5 (+100)
1:10 EST Royals @ Tigers – Today’s matchup features Daniel Norris and Jake Junis. Daniel Norris has a terrible career record at home, as he 4-16 in 31 starts in Detroit. Jake Junis has good career numbers against the Tigers, as he is 6-1 with a 3.19 ERA. Junis has given up two runs or less in each of his last three road starts. We like the Royals to win again today, and we like for the some under bets to come in due to the inconsistencies of these offenses.
Picks: KC (-123), KC 1st 5 (-130), Game Under 9 (-120), 1st 5 Under 5.5(-125), No to a run in the 1st (-115)
1:10 EST Nationals @ Mets – The Mets have taken the first two games against the Nationals and now send their ace to the mound. The Mets have won both DeGrom starts against Washington this season, as he has given up one run in twelve innings of work. Mets opponents have scored two runs or less in each of DeGrom’s last five starts. Anibal Sanchez starts for Washington today, and he is 5-5 in 11 road starts this season. In his career, he is 5-5 with a 4.06 ERA against the Mets. We like the Mets today to sweep the series.
Picks: Mets -1.5 (-125), Mets -0.5 1st 5(-140), 1st 5 Over 4 (-120), Mets Over 4.5 (-120), Wash Under 3.5 (-145), No to a run in the 1st (-135)
1:10 EST Braves @ Marlins – The Braves will be looking to bounce back with a win after last nights disappointing loss to the Marlins. It appears the time he spent in the Minors may have done Mike Foltynewicz some good. Foltynewicz will try to build off his last start against the Indians where he went 5.1 innings allowing three earned runs on three hits. Tasked with trying to shut shut down the Braves lineup will be Hector Noesi. In Noesi lone start of the year he gave up five runs to the Mets in five innings. Look for the Braves to jump on Noesi early.
Picks: Braves -.5 1st 5 (-145), 1st 5 Over 5 (-105), Braves Over 4.5 (-140), Marlins Over 3.5 (+100)

1:10 EST Cubs @ Reds – Cubs fans are realizing that the road woes of the Cubs are still here. In addition, the Reds offense came out on fire yesterday, knocking Kyle Hendricks out in the third inning. Today’s matchup features Jon Lester and Luis Castillo. Luis Castillo has been masterful this season, giving up three runs or less in six of his last seven starts, and nine of his last eleven starts. He is 7-3 with a 2.22 ERA at home this season, and is 2-1 with a 2.95 ERA in 3 starts against the Cubs this season. Jon Lester has given up five or more runs in both August starts. Lester is 3-5 with a 4.81 ERA in 10 road games this season. He is also 0-1 with a 4.76 ERA in his only start against Cincinnati. The Cubs have struggled with the Reds all season (now 5-7 in 12 games), and look for that to continue.
Picks: Cubs Under 4.5(-145), Reds Over 4.5(-120), Reds(-140), Reds -0.5F5(-115), F5 O4.5(-120)
2:10 Rangers @ Brewers – The Rangers will try to avoid the sweep this afternoon in Milwaukee. Mike Minor will get the start for Texas. Minor is coming off a masterful performance against the Indians throwing seven innings of shutout baseball. Jordan Lyles appears to have found his groove in his first two starts for the Brewers since being traded from the Pirates. He has given up two earned runs in his last ten innings of work. Although those are solid numbers we expect him to return to his pre-trade form. In the last four starts for Pittsburg he gave up 20 earned runs in just 12 innings. Look for the Rangers to take this one in Milwaukee.
Picks: Rangers 1st 5 (+100), Rangers (+105), Brewers Under 4.5 (-115)
2:10 EST Athletics @ White Sox – The A’s and White Sox have split the first two games in this series. Today’s matchup features Lucas Giolito and Chris Bassitt. Both games in this series have been low scoring at the start, as Friday and Saturday’s games were 2-0 after 5 innings. We think the same thing can happen today. Opponents of Lucas Giolito are batting .205 and .183 in their first and second time against him in games respectively. Chris Bassitt also is good early in games, as opponents have a .187 batting average their first time through the order. We like this to be a low scoring game, especially early on, but we like the As to come out with a win today.
Picks: Game Under 9 (-110), 1st 5 U4.5 (-110), No run in 1st (-120), Oak (-135), Oak 1st 5 (-120)
2:15 EST Pirates @ Cardinals – The Cardinals will try to make it three in a row over the Pirates this afternoon. Miles Mikolas will get the start for the Cardinals. He has pitched well as of late, allowing three earned runs or fewer in eight of his last nine starts. In four starts against the Pirates this season he is 2-1 with a 2.67 ERA. The Cardinals have struggled to score runs recently scoring under six runs in 11 of their last 13 games. Starting for the Pirates this afternoon will be Steven Brault who picked up right where he left off before he was injured. In his last start he allowed 2 earned runs in 5.2 innings. Before he headed to the injured list he had ten straight games of allowing three earned runs or fewer.
Picks: Cardinals -.5 1st 5 (-135), 1st 5 Under 5 (-120), Total Under 9.5 (-115), Pirates Under 3.5 (-110)
2:10 EST Indians @ Twins – The Twins reclaimed the lead in the AL Central by winning Saturday’s game for the Indians. They look to extend the lead back to 2 games with a win today. Today’s matchup features Jose Berrios and Aaron Civale. Berrios is 5-3 with a 3.15 ERA at home this season (that includes giving up nine runs in his last start). He had given up three earned runs or less in his last twelve starts before his last start. He is 5-2 in 10 career starts against Cleveland. Aaron Civale has been dominant for Cleveland in his two starts, giving up five hits and one run in 12 innings, while striking out 13 batters. We like a lot of Under bets in this game.
Picks: Game Under 9.5 (-105), 1st 5 U5.5 (-120), Cle U4.5 (-125), Minn Under 5.5 (-145), No run in the 1st (+100)
3:40 Rockies @ Padres – The Rockies enter today’s game having lost five games in a row. German Marquez takes the mound for the Rockies this afternoon, he will be attempting to put his last start against the Astros behind him. When pitching away from Coors Field, he is 6-3 with a 3.53 ERA with opponents hitting .203 against him. His counterpart will be Dinelson Lamet. Lamet will be making his seventh start for the Padres this year. San Diego has lost four of his six starts. we expect the Rockies to snap their losing streak this afternoon against the Padres.
Picks: Rockies 1st 5 (-105), Rockies (-108), 1st 5 Over 4.5 (-120), Total Over 8.5 (-105), Rockies Over 3.5 (145)
4:10 Diamondbacks @ Dodgers – The Dodgers are welcoming back Hyun-Jin Ryu today after missing his last start. Ryu has been dominate this year allowing two earned run or fewer in all but one of his starts. In two starts against Arizona he has given up only one earned run with Diamondback hitters batting .145.
Picks: LA -.5 1st 5 (-150), LA -1.5 (-120), Diamondbacks Under 3.5 (-150), LA Over 4.5 (-125)
4:10 Rays @ Mariners – TB -0.5F5(-120), F5 U5(-120), TB -1.5(-125), No to a 1st inning run (-125)
7:00 EST Phillies @ Giants – Jake Arietta and the Phillies face off tonight with Conner Menez and the Giants in San Fransisco. Conner Menez is coming off a rough outing where he gave up five earned runs over six innings to the Nationals. Arietta is coming off a loss in which he gave up only two earned runs but didn’t get much help from the Offense. He pitched against this Giants lineup ten days ago allowing just one earned run, and leading the Phillies to a victory. We expect a similar outcome today.
Picks: Phillies 1st 5 (-120), Phillies (-110), 1st 5 Under 5 (-120), Giants Under 4.5 (-140), Total Under 9 (-115), No to a 1st inning run (-120)
