Dak Prescott asks for 40 million a year from the Cowboys per Jane Slater. The Cowboys offer of 30 million is already generous in my opinion. However, in today’s NFL quarterbacks get paid. The prerequisite for this kind of payday has simply become reliability and safety. If there is one thing Dak has been, it’s safe.

If you look over Dak’s numbers in the NFL, you will find he has not taken a significant step forward since his rookie season.

Do these numbers warrant a 40 million contract? Should the Cowboys use this money on Zeke Elliot and Amari Cooper? Is this another Kirk Cousins type standoff? Was Prescott just a product of the Linehan offense? Dak has shown he can be the ultimate game manager with a superstar back and one of the best lines in the game. Is that worth 40 million a year?
