Trent Williams has become the biggest name in the offseason. Before training camp began, the Washington Redskins left tackle decided to hold out. The seven-time pro bowler has been in the midst of trade rumors since the holdout. The Redskins organization did come out and say that he is not tradable but this can always change.

Teams that may or may not be interested in Trent Williams
The first team we can rule out is the New England Patriots. They are no longer willing to pursue Williams due to the fact that Isaiah Wynn is healing nicely. Dan Skipper is also getting the reps he needs, per Field Yates. Basically, don’t fix what’s not broken. Wynn is the Patriots future.
The Miami Dolphins desperately need a leader on their offensive line. There has been speculation that the Dolphins think a fourth and a first-rounder will get the trade going.
The Philadelphia Eagles have been in the race as well. This would strictly be for depth. I don’t know if this will happen due to the fact Trent Williams makes to much to be a depth player.
The team that looks to have the best chance at a trade for Williams is the Houston Texans. Both teams have someone that the other wants. The Texans are looking for a left tackle and the Redskins would like to have Jadeveon Clowney. A third-round pick and Trent Williams should be sacrifice enough to get Clowney. This would please every party. The Redskins would win on this trade by making their defensive line very competitive.

Trent Williams isn’t doing anyone any favors by holding out. The Redskins and the running game are missing his leadership.
The Redskins doesn’t want to carry Williams salary
Trent Williams will be making an average of 25 million dollars in the last two years of his contract. He has nearly no more guaranteed money on the remainder of his contract. If the Redskins do make a trade they will take a 5.5 million dollar dead cap and just over 9.1 million dollars in cap savings for 2019. This will make it beneficial to trade him now especially while his stock is high.
