With a short stint in the AHL, Andrew Mangiapane joined the Flames in the second half of the 2017-18 campaign. Although it took some time, the 2015 sixth-round pick scored his first National Hockey League goal against the Vancouver Canucks at Rogers Arena on Feb 9, 2019. Off of a nice feed from Noah Hanifin, Mangiapane’s one-timer found itself in the back of the net. From that point on, the Ontario native kept looking brighter and brighter with strong shifts, despite playing small minutes on the Flames’ fourth line. Mangiapane’s most impressive stint with the Flames so far has been against the Colorado Avalanche in Game 1 of the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs. With an impressive backhander, while falling down to his knees, the Flames forward scored the opening goal in the second period, which would result as the game-winner thanks to a 4-0 score. Mangiapane amassed a total of 13 points in 44 regular-season games.

Oliver Kylington
Drafted in the 2015 Entry Draft like his fellow teammate Mangiapane, Oliver Kylington was picked 60th overall in the second round and keeps rising up to the charts. Playing 39 games in the 2018-19 regular season, Kylington scored his first NHL goal in his seventh game, from an Elias Lindholm pass that resulted in a one-timer against the Nashville Predators on Dec 8, 2019. A solid contributor on the ice, Kylington has a lot more to prove next season. Playing most of his shifts with fellow Swede Rasmus Andersson, Kylington could see more ice time in the third pairing option due to the fact that Juuso Valimaki will be out indefinitely due to a torn ACL. With a +3 last season, the 22-year-old Swede will likely be a second pairing defenseman in the Flames’ future blueline.
Dillon Dube

Despite only playing 25 games in the first half of the 2018-19 NHL regular season, Dillon Dube developed his game with the Californian farm team with 31 games played. Potting only one goal and four assists in the NHL, Dube then grabbed 37 points in the AHL. A gritty forward who went through a few injuries this past season due to on-ice plays, the 2016 second-round pick had many chances to score his first NHL goal. Against the Winnipeg Jets on Nov 21st, 2018, Dube finished off a one-timer from a Mark Jankowski pass, which trickled its way through underneath the Jets goaltender. Having a playstyle similar to a power forward and a playmaker, Dube could staple himself as an extra bottom nine forward in the possible near future for the Flames.
