The Patriots have been a powerhouse in the NFL for almost 20 years now and this year is no exception. These are the Patriots winners and losers this NFL season.
Patriots Winners and Losers of Week 1 Performance
Winners
Tom Brady
Tom Brady is by far the best quarterback to ever play the game. On Sunday night football he showed the world that he still has it. Brady threw 341 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions. The Steelers are a mediocre team in the NFL and the Patriots to do so well was amazing. You could see Brady calling out who he knew was blitzing. Brady may not have all of the physical abilities he used to have, but he is still one of the smartest quarterbacks in the NFL.
Phillip Dorsett
Phillip Dorsett had an outstanding game against the Steelers last Sunday. He showed us that 1st round potential that used to be expected of him. Dorsett received four receptions, for 95 yards, and two touchdowns. Not a single cornerback on the Steelers could stay man-to-man on Dorsett the whole game. The Patriots roster has lots of depth and the offense wouldn’t have been able to do this without their defense.

Defense
The Patriots defense was projected to do good, but not this good. The Patriots held the Steelers(who have a great offense) to only three points. JuJu Smith Shuster had trouble getting open since he was clamped by the best corner in the NFL, Stephone Gilmore. The defense played well as a unit because everyone did their job.
Loser
Sony Michel
Sony Michel was drafted last season and had an amazing rookie season. This first game for him this season is underwhelming. He rushed 15 times and only picked up 14 rushing yards. That is disappointing for him since he was supposed to have a much better game but was easily contained by the Steelers defense
