NFL Power Rankings: And then there was One

The NFL Power Rankings finally have a new number one team. The undefeated 49ers overtake the Patriots after they lost Sunday night to the Ravens. Those same Ravens now burst into the top five with the big win. The separation of the have and have nots has finally started.

Power Ten

1. San Francisco 49ers(8-0) – The 49ers finally rise to the top of the rankings as the only undefeated left in the NFL. The defense and running game leading the way. Oh, and Jimmy G made a pact with the devil, but you knew that already.

2. New England Patriots(8-1) – The Ravens take down the mighty Patriots. The historically good defense not so historical. Tom Brady is human. All of this and we will still have to watch them in the Superbowl…

3. New Orleans Saints(7-1) – The Saints get a bye and a fully healthy squad out of it for the stretch run. Although do they really need it?

4. Green Bay Packers(7-2) – The Packers got a slice of humble pie on Sunday. Just ask Aaron Rodgers.

5. Baltimore Ravens(6-2) – The Ravens get another signature win continuing to prove all the doubters wrong. Were there any in the first place?

6. Seattle Seahawks(7-2) – Russell Wilson throws five touchdowns for the win. Seattle better encase him in bubble wrap because they will lose any game he is not playing in.

7. Buffalo Bills (6-2) – The Bills bounce back against the one win Redskins. Is that really bouncing back?

8. Kansas City Chiefs(6-3) – What do you do after getting two late field goals to win? You sign the team president to an extension. Exciting stuff.

9. Minnesota Vikings(6-3) –Somehow this will all be Kirk Cousins fault again.

10. Houston Texans(6-3) – The Texans keep rolling in and out of the Power Ten. Maybe a better coach would help. Nope, a better coach would definitely help.

Middle of the Pack

11. Indianapolis Colts(5-3) – 400-year-old Adam Vinatieri could not find his old magic this time.

12. Los Angeles Rams(5-3) – They are on bye and hold steady.

13. Carolina Panthers(5-3) – Panthers bounce back with a win over the Titans. Cam Newton is done for the year. Will it be his last in Carolina? Christian McCaffrey is awesome.

14. Philadelphia Eagles(5-4) – After two straight wins here come the beat-up Eagles. Can the Eagles keep this going against New England after their bye?

15. Dallas Cowboys(5-3) – Jerry PLEASE!!!! Fire Jason Garrett before Dak and the rest of this team are in complete ruin. This will be on here until they fire Garrett or he wins a Super…sorry started laughing too hard. (It’s probably too late but I said it would stay)

16. Pittsburgh Steelers(4-4) – The Steelers are well-coached. Tomlin deserves to be in the talks for Coach of the year.

17. Oakland Raiders(4-4) – Even with all the drama this season built on the players they have chosen, Gruden has them 4-4. He is as mediocre as ever.

18. Los Angeles Chargers(4-5) – Big win over the Packers. Could the defense be leading the way now? Also why the heck are they in LA?

19. Jacksonville Jaguars(4-5) – Back to Nick Foles.

20. Detroit Lions(3-4-1) – This team needs to learn how to play to win games.

21. Tennessee Titans(4-5) – The Titans are clearly still a quarterback away from being a really good football team.

22. Arizona Cardinals(3-5-1) – The Arizona Cardinals are fun to watch and have won a few games. I guess that’s an improvement.

23. Chicago Bears(3-5) – The Bears have taken steps backward in every aspect of the game this season. I think they expected to be much higher in the NFL Power Rankings.

On Life Support

24. Denver Broncos(3-6) – The Broncos make the Browns look like an even more foolish playoff pick after beating them with Brandon Allen at the helm.

25. Tampa Bay Buccaneers(2-6) – Bruce Arians has not brought any of his old magic to Tampa this year.

26. Cleveland Browns(2-6) – The Browns had a safety threatening to kill people after the game because they said he couldn’t tackle. Just disturbing what is going on in Cleveland.

Race for #1

27. NY Giants(2-7) – The Giants are on the outside looking in for the number one pick. Apparently the Giants are now bothered after being blown out bu Cowboys. A little late isn’t it?

28. Atlanta Falcons(1-7) – Atlanta went from division contender to the race for the top pick. How does Dan Quinn still have a job?

29. Washington Redskins(1-7) – I think Bill Callahan said it best.

30. Miami Dolphins(1-7) – Miami screws everything up and wins a game. They still have a chance at number one.

31. New York Jets(1-7) – The lost to Miami and deserve to be here. They are lucky the Bengals are winless.

32. Cincinnati Bengals(0-8) – The Bengals move into the pole position of the NFL Power Rankings race for the number one pick and Tua.
