Raw Review 09/23/19

Raw is Wyatt is what happened this Monday Night, as the intro to Raw was slowed down and spooked up by the Fiend. We knew this would be a different raw with some Fire Fly Fun House magic.

The Fiend is Raw

Seth Rollins comes out to the ring to start Raw and cuts a promo on the Fiend. Rollins sounded scared and worried about facing his nightmare at Hell in the Cell.

He then asked the crowd what he was supposed to do in a situation like this? Which he answered “What I always do, survive, prevail and beat the odds.”

Typical Rollins face promo, I really miss the old him.

Braun comes out, talks about how if he has a problem with anyone he tells them to his face, and this sets up the main event of Raw. Braun vs Seth.

War Raiders vs The O.C.

1st match of the night, is War Raiders vs The OC. A.J. tries to interfere, gets sent to the back, and is attacked by Cedric Alexander.

I’m really enjoying Cedric, and glad he is showing up more on Raw.

Match goes on, the O.C. hits the Boot of Doom, but Erik kicks out at 2. O.C. then proceed to try and hit the Magic Killer, Erik gets out of it, manages to make the hot tag to Ivar.

Viking Raiders hit the Viking Experience and this match is over.

I would really like to see more between this two teams, they could definitely have an incredible match if given the time. I am still not sure why the War Raiders turned face, but hey, it’s Raw, and things like that always happen.

EC3 on Raw

EC3 is back on Raw

I am so glad, that EC3 is finally back on Raw. He proved on Impact that he has the charisma and skills to be a great wrestler. Unfortunately, he showed up to job to Rusev.

Lots of “We want Lana” chants, which is a good chant if you think about it, as she has yet to be mentioned on this new Rusev / Maria storyline.

Rusev wins with the accolade.

Da Boss!

Sasha Banks is up next, and I love her new persona. This is the Sasha Banks that we need on raw. She is set to face Nikki Cross.

Good back and forth match, that ends with Nikki tapping out to Sasha. I can’t wait to see the Hell in the Cell match against The Man.

It’s so good to have Sasha back!

Spoiler: Sasha will come out as The NEW Raw women’s champion.

The Lady of Raw

Lacey Evans is up next, she is set to face Ember Moon. Ember is such a great talent, and it’s unfortunate she is not used more.

I understand that Lacey has got the look that WWE loves, but she still has to work some more on her in-ring work.

Lacey finishes this match, using the sharpshooter to make Ember tap out.

After the match, Natalya shows up and mentions that when someone uses your move, it is signs of respect. However, Lacey does not know how to properly do the Sharpshooter, and their rematch is on.

On a side note, Lacey Evans did a social media promo with a police officer that created a lot of chaos over the weekend. A lot of people thought it was a real scenario and bashed Lacey’s behavior. I think its fun when wrestlers interact and cut promos like that. But anyway…

Sharing is Caring

FireFly Fun House on Raw

We get another incredible Firefly Fun House segment, with Ramblin Rabbit and Huskus fighting over a Seth Rollins doll.

Bray takes the doll away from them, proceeds to cut it down the middle, and tells them that “Sharing is Caring”.

I honestly love every single promo by Bray Wyatt and this one once again delivered.

They are honestly the best thing about Raw, and just because of that, Raw is a must watch show for me.

24/7 action

Carmella finally turned on R-Truth and became the 24/7 champ. However it was not the reaction we expected from R-Truth, as he seem relieved that he was no longer the champion. We then got a lot of the Raw women’s roster come out and chase after Carmella and Truth.

All Hail King Corbin

I’m not sure why there is so much hate for Corbin, but he is a great heel, and his persona is perfect for this.

Chad Gable received a rematch and they put another fun match, they have great in-ring chemistry, and it seems we are going to get more, as Corbin lost via DQ after hitting Gable with his King scepter.

Glad that Gable is getting a push, he is a great wrestler that could very well become the next Kurt Angle.

Fatal 5 way

We get a fatal five elimination match to set the challenger for next weeks Raw against Seth Rollins for the Universal Title.

This match was fun, and I am glad they gave it some time. It even had some surprises, as Ricochett was the first one to be eliminated, and by none other than Nakamura. (Maybe this will make for a future feud)

Things started to pick up in the ring, with lots of great moves that led to AJ eliminating Nakamura.

Then out of nowhere, Robert Roode hit the glorious DDT on AJ, and we are now down to two.

I am excited to see what they will do with Roode on Raw, he sure has a lot of potential.

In the end, Rey came out on top and will face Seth Rollins on next weeks Raw.

Get these hands Seth! (Main event of Raw)

To be perfectly honest, I did not pay a lot of attention to this match, but in the end, Braun started to take over, hitting a power slam outside the ring.

He was then about to hit another power slam in the ring when the lights went out……….

THE FIEND IS HERE!

The Fiend ended up SAVING and Protecting Seth Rollins (He did mention in one of his promos that he was going to protect him), and took out Braun.

This was an awesome ending to the show, and I just want to see more of the Fiend. I cannot wait for next weeks Raw.

It wasn’t a great show, but it was fun. If I had to rate it out of ten, I’d say 7.5-8.
