The Michigan Wolverines had their third home game of the season before their next home game against nationally ranked Iowa. The Rutgers had a 1-2 record prior to this game while the Wolverines were 2-1 with a previous blowout loss to Wisconsin. Michigan was looking to bounce back against Rutgers and they did fashionably.

First Half Recap

The Michigan Wolverines start this game vs Rutgers with a splash. They score on their first drive of the game, after fumbling on the first drive in the last three games.
The Wolverines defense aided by Rutgers penalties had an easy first series and they are forced to punt.
On their next drive the Wolverines march down field for a touchdown. Shea Patterson with a naked bootleg for the score; his first rushing touchdown of the season.
Later on, Patterson added a second rushing touchdown. This has been Patterson’s best game so far of the year, even though it’s only the first half of the game. Michigan will take a 24-0 lead into half time.
Second Half Recap

Opening kickoff resulted in a fumble and a Michigan recovery. Wolverines will start with the ball on Rutgers 15 yard line. The Wolverines keep the ball on the ground and pound it in for the score. 31-0 Michigan.
The Wolverines put in their 3rd string quarterback Joe Milton, who then leads the offense down the field for a touchdown. Milton leads back to back scoring drives in which Milton not only showed off his arm, but his legs as well. Scoring a rushing touchdown as well as a passing.
The Wolverines also have their backup defense in this whole fourth quarter. With this game in hand, the Wolverines bring on the fourth string QB to kill the rest of the clock and take home the win 52-0.
