Brayden Schenn and the St. Louis Blues have agreed to an eight year 52 million dollar extension that will kick in the 2020 season. Schenn will be making 6.5 million per season until 2028. He is now in his third season in St. Louis after being traded from Philadelphia.
Schenn Signs Extension With St. Louis Blues
In his first season with the Blues Schenn broke out with a career-high 70 points including 20 even-strength goals after only seven in his previous season. In the 2018-19 season, he took a step back scoring 54 points. In the Blues Stanley Cup march through the playoffs, Schenn added 12 points in 26 games. He saved his best for last as in the Stanley Cup Final he had five points by tallying three goals and two assists.
For the Blues, they now only have two UFA’s after this season in captain Alex Pietrangelo and defenseman Jay Bouwmeester. They have several RFA’s to worry about though in defenseman Vince Dunn, and forwards Robby Fabbri, Sammy Blais and Mackenzie MacEachern. They will have a touch under eight million in cap space to get them signed baring any trades.
