The Hunt for Gold October

NXT Live on USA with Matt Riddle against Adam Cole, with 30 minutes of commercial free wrestling.

The original bro is in control with some quick takedowns to start the match, and he immediately goes for the fujiwara armbar.

Bicycle kick by Cole that gets Riddle to pump up and land several forearms, an exploder suplex, the broton and a knee to the face combo, for a two count.

Riddle lifts Cole for a slam, but Cole gets out and hits a code breaker.

Mamma Mia chants from the NXT Universe!

Slugfest between Cole and Riddle, with kicks, knees, enziguris, and suplex exchanges.

Another bicycle kick by Cole that takes Riddle to the outside. Cole measures for a panama sunrise, but Riddle hits a knee to the face.

He quickly climbs to the top and tries a floating bro, but Cole counters it into a panama sunrise, for a two count.

The champ is taking his knee pad off, and is ready for the last shot, but Riddle falls face first.

Cole decides to go for a Panama Sunrise, but bro reverses it into the BTS, connects with a Powerbomb, knee to the face and the floating bro, for a 2 count.

A Fight forever chant starts at the 12 min mark.

The challenger hits a chop that drops Cole to the mat, but gets cocky with a flip, that allows Cole to connect with a panama sunrise.

Adam Cole goes for the final shot, but Riddle reverses it into the bromission!

Cole somehow manages to reverse it into a roll up, but Riddle strikes back and counters with a fujiwara armbar.

The champ rolls out and lands the Last Shot to retain his NXT Title.

Post Match and comments

What a way to start this show, what an incredible Match.

Post-Match: Lights go out, and Finn Balor is here, He is back on NXT! The former NXT and Universal champion has come home.

The Genius of the Sky

Io Shirai is here and she will face Mia Yim.

Quick fast pace action to start the match, with Mia taking control after an atomic drop and a dropkick to the outside.

After a commercial break, Io is in control, and quickly lands a dropkick to Mia"s mid-section for a two count.

Io then tries a tiger bomb, but Yim hits a belly to belly suplex off the ropes instead.

We then get some back and forth, and Mia lands a lariat a couple of drop-kicks and a spear.

Yim starts landing several kicks onto Io, but quickly turns onto a hurricarrana for a 2 count.

Io follows that up with the 619 and a springboard off the top rope, for another two count.

Shirai tries a german suplex, but turns into a canadian destroyer by Yim. Io rolls to the outside to avoid the pin fall.

Mia is on the top rope now, and is met with some slaps by Io, who is able to hit a superplex, that gets the NXT Universe"s approval.

Shirai walks over Mia, lands a kick onto her face, climbs the top rope, and connects her patented moonsault for a 3 count.

Comments

What a great match between both competitors, this is Mia Yim"s best match up to date.

Io deserves a title shot, I really hope we get a Rhea vs Io program down the road.

Gargano vs Thorne

Match starts with a lot of quick back and forth technical wrestling moves, that end up with Gargano almost locking the Gargano escape, that Shane is able to counter into a side suplex.

Back from commercial break, and Thorne has Gargano on a headlock. Johnny tries to get out, but receives an elbow to the head.

Johnny launches himself to the outside, and is met with a forearm, but somehow Gargano is able to recover and launches himself to the outside once again.

Gargano tries to set up Thorne for a DDT, but Shane counters with a fireman"s carry, which Johnny manages to get out of, only to be met with a cannonball and a japanese powebomb for a two count.

Shane measures Gargano for his finisher, but is hit with a forearm.

Exchange of strikes, kicks, and Johnny lands a lariat, he is now fired up.

Johnny goes off the ropes, roundhouse kick by Thorne, that somehow Gargano counters into a horsearrana, DIY kick, and this match is over.

Comments:

It was such a fast pace match, that I even had trouble typing all of the moves and counters.

The Queen of Spades defends her NXT Title

Shayna mocks LeRae to start the match, but she has none of that and hits Baszler with an enziguri and kicks her to the outside and follows up with a crossbody dive!

We go to commercial break and Candice climbs to the top rope, but Shayna knocks her down to the outside. The champ then disposes of the challenger by throwing her to the steel steps.

Baszler puts Candice"s arm in the steel steps and lands a kick. She gets back in the ring and starts focusing on that arm.

However, Candice is able to counter with a face first drop onto the mat onto the outside. Candice then launches herself onto Shayna, comes back in, and launches herself again and again to complete the hat trick.

We get an NXT Chant

The challenger climbs to the top, but Shayna lands a kick to the face and follows up with a top rope side suplex.

Back from commercial break and Candice lands a suplex on Shayna.

She then connects with several right hands, but the champ counters with the coquina clutch.

However, out of nowhere Candice also counters and locks in one of her own.

The NXT Universe is going wild, but Shayna hits a snap mare, climbs to the top rope and locks in the coquina clutch.

Candice is able to get out, and hits a swinging neck breaker from the top rope for a two count.

The challenger tries a backslide killswitch but Baszler counters into the coquina, and somehow Candice rolls out. She then hits the backslide killswitch, goes for the lionsault, but Shayna moves and locks in the coquina clutch.

After several attempts to get out of the submission hold, Candice has no option but to tap out.

Comments:

Shayna is such a great champion, and it is time for her to face Rhea Ripley.

I am very excited about this program.

British Strong Style NXT Match

Both wrestlers are very familiar with each other, and you can clearly see that in the match, as they continuously counter every single offensive move.

Dunne finally lands a massive clothesline as we go to commercial break.

Back from break and Birch looks to be in control, but we get a quick forearm exchange.

Dunne lands an enziguri, a suplex, a stomp on the fingers, a kick to the face and a power bomb combo, but only gets a two count.

Birch counters with a headbutt and lands a pop up power bomb, hits a knee strike to the face and a top rope DDT, for another two count.

We get a this is awesome chant at the seven minute mark from the NXT Universe.

Back and forth right hand exchange, but Dunne snaps Birch"s fingers, connects with the bitter end, and this match is over.

Post- Match and comments:

Post- Match: Damien Priest attacks the Bruiserweight with a forearm and connects with the rolling cutter.

This is going to be a terrific program.

NXT Title Match number 3

Street Profits vs Undisputed era

We get a lot of tease in ring action, and before anyone can take control, we are taken to a commercial break.

Fish and O"Reilly with constant strikes on Montez, he fights back, but is hit with several strikes from Kyle.

Ford tosses both members of the Undisputed Era to the outside and lands a rock bottom on Kyle. Ford is about to make the tag, but Fish takes out Dawkins.

Abdominal stretch on Ford by Bobby Fish, but the Street Profit himself fights out, makes a flip and tags Dawkins.

Angelo in with the hot tag, he takes out the tag team champions with two 360 splash in the corner.

Dawkins is now measuring Kyle, but is met with a knee to the face. With the ref distracted, Fish hits a quick blow to the leg and Angelo is hurt.

Kyle to the top rope and connects with a knee onto the leg, and quickly locks in a submission move.

Ford tries to assist Dawkins, but Fish hooks a guillotine. Ford bounces off the ropes and both men dive onto Dawkins to break up the hold.

We get an NXT chant.

Kyle and Dawkins are going at it now, both exchanging blows. Kyle goes for the leg, but Angelo hits an enziguri.

Bobby Fish goes to the top rope and misses, which allows Angelo to get the tag. Ford heads to the top rope and hits a frog splash onto Fish for a 2 count.

Street Profits set up Fish in an electric chair, but Kyle makes the save and takes Bobby to the outside

Dawkins is now outside and takes out Bobby, before Montez dives over the ring post onto the outside!

He goes to the top rope, but Roderick Strong is here to interfere, but is met with a spear.

That distraction is enough for the champions to hit the high/low combo to retain the titles.

Post- match & comments

Undisputed Era is celebrating in the ring, holding their titles high in the air and…. Ciampa"s music hits!

Ciampa is back! He is here for Goldie, he wants him back!

Staredown between Ciampa and Cole as NXT goes off the air.

What an incredible show, the NXT Universe was hot, and it gave it the feel of a PPV show.

I am a very big fan of NXT and this show delivered in every way. I am ready for the Wednesday wrestling wars!
