Aspen Ladd lodged an appeal to the California State Athletic Commission to overturn her recent TKO loss on the grounds of gender discrimination.
Ladd claims her loss to Germaine de Randamie at UFC Sacramento in July was an early stoppage by the referee, Herb Dean.
CSAC Overrules Gender Discrimination Claim
CSAC held a hearing on Tuesday for Ladd to state her case. Using media coverage of the stoppage Ladd argued the stoppage was early. She went further by claiming it was due to her gender.
Ladd believes that if it was a male fighter, more time would have been given to show a response.

Veteran referee Herb Dean was the official in charge of the bout and appeared at the CSAC hearing.
Dean was clear that not only did he stand by his stoppage, that gender has never had an impact on his officiating.
After hearing from all parties the CSAC members took a vote and denied the appeal 3-2.
Interestingly the votes were three males against the appeal and two women for the appeal.
We will next see Ladd in action against Yana Kunitskaya at UFC on ESPN 7.
