Dana White has shut down the return of UFC superstar, Conor McGregor, in a recent interview with The Boston Herald.
Fans and media alike went wild earlier this week when Conor McGregor tweeted Frankie Edgar birthday wishes and a date.
Dana White Shuts Down Conor McGregor Return
Happy birthday Frankie, see you in December.

Frankie Edgar quickly responded and by the end of the exchange we were proclaiming the fight done.
We were wrong and now Dana White has confirmed it with the following statement to The Boston Herald.
Dana White says no to Conor McGregor
“Edgar is two weight classes below him,” White said. “(Edgar) was supposed to fight Aljamain Sterling. Aljamain fell out and got hurt. Frankie is coming to the end of his career, and he could end up getting himself into a title position again. To take the Conor fight makes no sense.”
Dana White did go on to say he expects a 2020 return for UFC pay-per-view record holder, Conor McGregor.

Are Fans Losing Interest in Conor McGregor?
One thing we noticed during all the excitement was a surprising portion of fans taking to social media to express a disinterest in the return of former UFC double champion, Conor McGregor.
Many questioned why Frankie Edgar, a significantly smaller fighter, would be the target for such a return.
Unless the return is against a ranked lightweight there may well be backlash against the former beloved McGregor.
